Default Raven and JR G5000T Gyro Yes or No?

I have a Raven and currently have a JR G500T Extreme Tail Lock Gyro System with a JR 8700G servo that I have yet to install. Reading the gyro instructions it says that this gyro should not be used on tail rotor sytems that use a "piano wire" tail drive system. My radio is a JR XP 7202. Will this work?

how old is the raven, is it a 30 or a 50? are you sure it has "wire in tail" drive?

It is a new Raven 50 and uses a drive shaft. Also, the gyro has a connection for Aux2 and Aux3 using both Rate and Tail Lock features.

Yes it will work with a torque tube drive system. The system in your Raven is like the one that JR uses in its expensive Vibe helis.

one goes into your gear channel and the other in aux 2 for mode switching on a 7 channel .. if you plan on using a governor, you can manually switch the rate/lock. but your stuck with that.

Okay, I plan to use this since I already have it. I have a JR 7-channel radio. I can use either channel 5 or channel 7 or both. How do I set it up to be able to have Tail Lock for hovering and Remote Rate for forward flight? Thanks in advance.

Just leave it in heading hold. You will have to coordinate your turns with a bit of rudder, it will take some thinking for a bit then it will become second nature.
