Not likely to get much help here as frequent flyer's business is doing just what you asking.

I did a thread on molding an SR-7 fuse here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...0#post29971845

Check out my thread. I asked the same question but ended up scouring the web to figure it out.

PM me if you have any questions.

Exactly. A few bucks and one of the 2 main vendors in the classic pattern forums will mail you an excellent kit. I have 3 kits from Don (Frequent Flyer) at Rcaair and they are wonderful kits.

You can always send me what you've got and I'll make the mold if it's worthy. What are you wanting to reproduce?

Default Need Advice

Well, 2 1/2 years later my Tipo + from RCAIIR is just about done. I have about another 3-4 evenings to finish installing the rest of the servos and the engine. It will fly as soon as the snow is gone up here in W. PA. I do though need some advice from my pattern friends. When i first bought the kit my plan was to put a Nova Rossi 61 Speed/13 on it. Well, having done a bit of research in the interim, I decided that was probably not the best motor for the plane. So then I bought a Nova Rossi R61F to pull an 11x9 prop. Then I thought more and bought a YS91 to swing a 13-14 in prop. I am probably over thinking this. Anybody here have an opinion? The bolt pattern is the same.. Airplane with everything but the motor weighs 8lb 13 oz... Thanks for the advice.

I'd go with a Novarossi R60F side exhaust in it. Or..., a YS Classic SE also now available.

IMO, Tipos don't look that great with RE engines side mounted in them. An inverted RE engine install could be "line appealing" but having built three Tipos so far (a 15, 30 and 60 size), I'd say it's more trouble than it's worth. A proper RE design would be the better choice for a RE engine. Again, IMO...

I built one of those years ago....
The engine choice sort of depends on what style of flying you intend to do with it.
This airplane wants to be flown fast so the Speed 13 RE or the R61F RE is the engine to use.
Use the RE with the pipe down the side of the fuselage....initial installation is easy and it works great.
Definitely not a YS 91.
You COULD use a side exhaust with pipe down the belly but then you would have to install and remove the pipe for each flying session when you attach/remove the wing.
I would not use a SE with a muffler on this airplane.

Just finished the molds for the Addiction 2 meter Pattern plane. Just have to trim and clean them up in a couple of days. Wow, this is a beautiful plane! This is a great kit I think. I've been wanting to build one of these for years.

It's my rcaiir kit. I draw the cad plans from scale drawings and sometimes other references.

I'm building new shops over 12,000 sq ft. when done I'll photograph all the kits I make but for now I am really cramped and half way unpacked from moving to Colorado a couple years ago. I'm doing all I can in the limited shop space that I have currently just to fill orders. New shops will also have a photo green room.

Don,
That will be great for business, maybe a nice website, too! Have you though about buying BlueJay Airplane kits? The current owner is not meeting demand at all. I regularly read about guys wanting Bridi kits, but can't get them. Just an FYI.
Regards,
Will

I have been making for the last 19 years or more many Joe Bridi kits ], I have the fiberglass UFO, DIRTY BIRDI and the wood ESCAPE, wood XLT, and about six or seven others I haven't listed yet.

Yes , I have a new website in the works, my son is on his way back home after Graduating from college. He went to Japan last year to learn to speak Japanese. He has the website almost done, the big hold up was moving from CA to CO and not having all the hundreds of crates unpacked so we can take pictures of everything. we've spent two years working on the web site already.
