Hey Devin on post #99, your aileron instalation; could you provide a rough diagram on how you built it? I like the looks and might incorporate it in my next build. THX Phil

Wagner 24314

In the past we already did some calculations, see page one of the thread.
You also did show a set-up for the plane in post 3,

"im planning for motor is a Neu 1512-2Y 770 KV, 100Amp esc 6 cell 5Ah lipo"

Is the set-up still the same and can you tell us the brand of the propeller?

I see you claim to reach the 170 mph.
Was that the speed in a dive or horizontal and how did you measured that?

If you have some data it would be interesting to see, also to estimate if your target, the 200 MPH, is possible and what is needed for that.

Hi Wagner24314,

Have You downloaded from Your Castle Creations Phoenix ICE 100 ESC to CastleLink Graph Viewer the flight data so You can give some acutual in flight data from the Castle data log?

Like average and max:
Ripple
Current
Watts
Temp (of ESC)
RPM (prop RPM)

How long flight times to you get with 20% left in Your Billowy Power 6 cell 5200 mAh battery? Is itthe 40C or 50C battery You use?

I can imagine that in the long run if cooling of the motor, ESC and battery is not reasonably good that may be a weak spot in conversion old classic pattern glow planes to electric. It might work for a while.
A 10 x10 prop is very aggresive pitch, prop stall thrust is probably not that good in eCalc.
I see You use Turngity T600 (880 kv) motor that is a heli motor and can handle up to 90 amp (continous?). Hardto beat the price on that motor, for example Hyperion HS-4035 (630 or 800 kv)is at least 3 times more expensive.

/Bo

I have the same motor and would be curious about the answers to bem's previous questions:

Like average and max:
Ripple
Current
Watts
Temp (of ESC)
RPM (prop RPM)

How long flight times to you get with 20% left in Your Billowy Power 6 cell 5200 mAh battery? Is it the 40C or 50C battery You use?
