As far classic airframes, I've got an Hangar 9 P7 that needs some minor repair (main gear block loose). The other airframe I have is a Perigee. But I would consider that to be vintage. The other stuff I have are restoration projects or kits to be built. Have many!

Well, hook57 , WEDJ, Free Bird...
Had a phone conversation with Pitstop000 (Paul P.) today regarding the direction of NECPO.
As Paul P and I have discussed... the key is the planes, we have to get a handle on what individuals have the type of classic ships ready to fly or will be ready to fly in time for the event to get a decent amount of participants.

Whats the thought towards Electric ?
I've flown my fair share of pattern-ish birds for sport back in the day but have only been flying electric for the past 12-15 years.
... Still have a few of the old kits around that I saved for electricution. Back when I went "E" the power/weight ratio wasn't there but it certainly is today.

Well, if you must, I guess it's OK! But you at least have to duct tape a tuned pipe to the side of the fuse and make OS .61SF engine noises when you fly!

LOL ... why not ? something's got to vent all that sweet smelling ionized air out of the fuze
I know its not the same, but flying them E-powered (and exposing a generation of E-flyers to planes they've never seen) I think might help extend the lineage a bit longer and thats the aim, right ? To keep these awesome looking birds in the sky for all to enjoy ? Thats what got me hooked years ago - the sheer sexyness of the design as a whole ... as well as the flight characterisitcs. I'm nowhere near being a great pilot, but I can remember the first time someone at the field handed me the box and on the other end was a honkin' Aurora ... and that almost zen-like feeling of being connected to the plane.
I know I'll be missing out on shaking the airframe and electronics to death, miss cutting a gaping hole in a beautifully smoothed nose, miss having the wife ask yet again where the windex and paper towels went, miss having to deal with my motor never quite at max performance regardless of flight conditions, and miss having the CG change as my fuel goes from full to empty but - Hey !! Im an accomodating guy who's willing to put up with all those shortcomings
