Webra Speed .61 black head
I have a never run engine with a Macs header and (2) pipes. What are they worth? I have had them for 20 years or so. Just sitting there waiting for me to finish my Curare build.
Thanks

the Webra Speed black heads were rear exhaust (RE) engines. They were referred to as "Racing" engines by Webra. The side exhaust (SE) engines had silver heads either cast (early versions) or machined (later versions). There were some earlier yet black head SE Webra's but they were sport engines and not called Speeds.
I'm just curious what engine, header and pipes you have? Can you post some pictures?

Ralph,
that is a beautiful RE engine! And yes, that is also a Webra "Racing" but of more recent vintage. The original RE Speed Racing had black anodized heads. The SS was all black (slightly off black actually) while the LS (like yours) had a silver band around the black head. I don't believe your engine saw any external changes other than the red anodizing of the head - everything else looks to be using the same parts as the older generation engines including the amazing Dynamix carb.
You should get that beast into an Arrow 800 - perfect match! It's a shame Hobby Barn is no longer making kits from their amazing molds.

I have more engines than I can ever use, thought I had all the beautiful engines out there. I have Hannos, OPS, YS, Moki, etc engines and am happy admiring them satisfied with my collection. Until today. Now computer monkey just created a gaping hole in my collection. Wow, that blackhead with the silver band is gorgeous.

Exactly Ralph!
The silver band indicates that it is a long stroke as also indicated in German on the box after the word Racing. Note how both your silver band black head and red head are both long strokes and both are Racing designated. In fact, they are both exactly the same product number (1033-RC) just that the red head came later as I mentioned. It looks like your red head is also pumped (1033-RC-CP). The ABCD refers to the fact it is an ABC type engine with a Dynamix carb. The ones that came with TNII carbs have an ABC-TNII marking if memory serves.
That red head on a 12x10 prop and the 11 mm Dynamix will really haul the mail. You just need a long fuse for the long pipe.
On the same fuel, plug and prop (APC 11x7), the Racing SS outran a Rossi 3-port FIRE on an OS large bore carb. The Webra turned close to 14K (13.8K) while the Rossi managed about 14.3K. Naturally, the new Speed/13 is way above and beyond that...

Do you think it is still possible to obtain a Webra 61 F Long Stroke side exhaust given how long ago the motor was made? Also, does the LS have significantly more torque then the regular 61 F.
Last question, what was the bore and stroke of the Webra LS side exhaust?

The motor I was interested in was, the long stroke 61 black head. What is the difference with the red head? The motor is stunningly beautiful by the way. I am not going to turn anything other then an APC 12x6. Coming from a control line stunt background, we prefer more pull and less speed.
