Default Typhoon 2+2

Not sure if this is the proper place to post this.

Was on the RC City Website. This site is currently under construction and seems to be unavailable at times.

I saw that a Typhoon 900 and Typhoon 1000 were listed.

The Typhoon 2+2 available years ago through Gator RC is my all time favorite plane. I still have a Typhoon 2+2 with a Nomex fuselage. Jim Graham from RC City and I are trying to determine the differences between the Typhoon 900, 1000, and 2+2. I'm not at all familiar with the 900 or the 1000. I do remember a Typhoon 2000?....and then a possibly a "FASCINATION" after that?

I still have the Typhoon 2+2 plans from Gator RC. Jim seems to think that the Typhoon 1000 is the same fuselage as the 2+2 with the wings being slightly different.

This was a very popular design years ago....hopefully there are some of you out there that are familiar with the different itterations of this aircraft. Your input to help fully identify the 2+2 would be appreciated.

Here a little inside.
I remember seing that Gator RC ad from back then. I forgot about the reference to the "MV1 Typhoon" . Jim at RC City apparently has the 909sq. in and 1000sq. in. versions. I need to look at the 2+2 plans to see the difference in the 1,140sq. in. wing. Jim thinks that the fuselage is the same for all of them and the wing area is the only difference. Can anyone verify that?

The Typhoon 2+2 is a two meter design and measures 78" length and wing span of 77 1/2". The earlier ones had shorter fuses.

I have a copy of the 2+2 plans and you are right the fuse is longer. The 900 and 1000 use the same fuse I have the molds for both but not the 2+2.Jim Grahamrccityfl.com

The fuse was different on all of them. Ron Chidgey did a scale-up of the entire model each time he made them bigger.

And Tony won the Nast (a few years back) flying the Typhoon 1000.

Thanks! But actually it was a Typhoon 2+2 in 1995. I made the 1993 USA Team with Typhoon 1000's.

BTW, the MV in the original MV1 Typhoon was for "Mostly Vortex". Ron patterned the Typhoon off of the Ulery Vortex that Dean Koger flew.

Yes I can. However I just moved to a new location and need to unpack. I think that I have one already made, just need to find it. Let me know if you are interested.

I loved this airplane, it was my last pattern plane for Master turnaround, it had YS 120 power and MK retracts. I won both SC and GA State Championships with the 1000 in 1990.
