One quick clarification, I am going to use an os55, same as on your curare, do I need to use the c of g as in the picture with the wing off? And does that mean changing the downthrust? Or with glow, Di I ignore those tips?
thanks again

Hi, I'm not using any shims for added downthrust on my OS 55 powered Curare, but I have the CG slightly further forward than recommended by Hanno. For my flying style, this is perfect.

Hello all.
I suspect this is your last chance to get one of these in ARF form.

I wasn't 100% happy with how I cut the cowl on mine, so contacted Schweighofer for a replacement. They told me they had no cowls left and we're running down the stock of the kits, and no more would be made.

I'm not sure if they plan to make another classic. I did ask the question, but didn't get an answer.

I suppose you'd have to ask what could be more classic than a Curare.

So, those of you who may be undecided, I thought I would just let you know you had better make a move on them now.

Regards,
Rodders

I have. Spare red/green cowl, brand new if anyone is in need. I will sell for what I paid plus postage.

Willyuk
Thanks for the offer.

As it is, I bought a cowl from Sussex Model Centre. The website showed out of stock, but the guy had a dig around the shop and found the last cowl in a box of odd bits- I'm thinking luck was on my side with that one.

Just checked this morning and SMS have now cleared/sold all curare kits and parts. I dont think there's anything left at Schweighofer either.

I'm glad I bought 2 kits now.

I would be curious to know how many were in that production run?
I also wonder if they will do another classic pattern kit?

Just off to polish my now collectable Curare arf!

I saw an article mentioning they had 600 kits. I wish I had pulled the trigger last month when I had the chance. I may not have a shop anymore to build my classic pattern bird, so this ARF was appealing. Guess I will have to figure another way to scratch the classic pattern itch.

Any guesses on what plane will be next to get the arf treatment?

My regret is that I didn't get one of the YS Classic engines, as they were gone really quick?

Apparently they are doing a Dalotel. It should be in production and available this Summer from what I've read.

The German web sites have pics of the Dalo.

A Dalotel makes sense. That was another plane Hanno won with.

Just found this. See right under the F3A Vintage headline. It's from a while ago though, so who knows?

Both the Curare and Super Curare are available from HobbyBarn now.

That is good news. It must have been a good selling plane for them to do this.
