Default Wing outline for 40 size Lucky Fly

I'm trying to help someone build a wing for a Lucky Fly. Does anyone have an outline of the actual airfoils.
Thanks, Tim

Johnny Casburn was using symmetrical foils with around 12% thickness as I recall. Nothing fancy about their shape. He used the TLAR method to draw the foils originally. He used a taper ratio of 1.5 to 1. That is, root was 1.5 times tip chord. Point is choose something and go with it. Not terribly critical on the LF and neither is the area-the 60 was round 700 squares and the 40 around 500 squares

Ya, I'd just like to have them as backgrounds to use the CNC setup and make it easier. We've done the same with other planes that we didn't have the airfoil for, if it fit in the saddle then it was probably close enough. But I just want to cut them once and sometimes you get one that looks good but after it's cut it has to be scrapped.

The guy that drafted the plans for Johnny is a good friend of mine but he didn't know what the actual airfoil was either.

I have an LFX III kit which has skinned wings that haven't yet been joined. I can trace the tip and root ribs for you this evening if that would help. The LFX series was the pattern version derived from the Lucky Fly.

Yep, that would help greatly. Thanks.
He's got the original wing but is hesitant about cutting it in half but we can see if the new wing matches what he's got. If you can, let me know what the length and sweep are too.
Thanks again Jeff,

Tim

OK, Tim. I'll do the tracing and wing measurements this evening.

Correction - the tracing is from an LFX II wing.

Thanks Jeff.
Nice Skylane. I haven't been lucky enough to fly one yet. I did fly the Centurion RG and thought I was going to have a moonlighting job with it but my buddy's company sold out.

Thanks for the compliment, Tim. I've owned 14G since 1987. She's part of the family. I've got about 3100 hours in her - we are now on our third engine. Lots of upgrades along the way, including a Garmin 430W and XM weather.

Yes, it's for him. He didn't say he had it that I can recall. He seems set on fixing the one he has but it's really rough.

Ihave to find them, but i did a set of drawings from a Super Lucky Fly 2 last year. also have the rib profile. Will take a look see and try to find them. Do you want them in any specific format? Istarted a set of CAD drawings as well, but Iknow they are not finished.
Mike

edited to add: here is a PDF of what Ihave done. Iset the wingspan at 70" for this one. While the original was a foam core Idrew this up as a builtup. is not finished by any means but should help. As you can see Iwas looking at making the wing a 2 piece and moving it up some on the fuse.

That will work fine. I can use just about any format you have but we can work off the PDFs too.

Thanks, Tim
