I had forgotten about this. FWIW, Dave Brown products (minus the spinner line) is alive and well via Ohio Superstar.

KLXMASTER14, did you get your soft mount and nose ring? How did you like it?

Yes, and I look forward to using them on my next build. I have seen and flown Tony F's installation, and it really works well.

I think the orange has been out of stock for a while. Here is a link to the blue. http://www.der-schweighofer.at/en/pr...orange_1640_mm

I have never seen a US distributor.

They are very nice.

I had been hankering after a MK kit of a curare for a number of years. Well I finally found one, then had a long hard think about it and let someone else have it .

The ARF is very well made ( really good) and lighter than the original. That, as well as the knowledge that hanno flies one of these with an electric motor put the nail in the coffin for me getting an MK kit.

i thought I might feel bad about letting the MK kit go, but I'm happy with the ARF- its called evolution.

David, bite the bullet.

My curare with very powerful old rear exhaust webra.61,dynamix carb, apc 11x7.
Old webra is much more powerful than os.55 or weston.52 curare special.

Those Webra Racing 61 SS FIRE's are monsters! Are you hitting 15K on the 11x7? I've seen them turn 14.8K on that prop.

Interesting engine location on the left side. Is your Dynamix on back to front?

Engine line is so left side, if sylinder is in right side it needs some special header and cut out fuselage side.
Engine is now "wrong"side with original header and pipe, carb is rotated 180deg and works idle front and full throtle rear.

Hello just wondering if you have tried a 11x8 or 11x9? What fuel are you using?

18% synt/castor 0%nitro only bench run with other props.
Hot weather and os8 plug and 10%nitro it feels that ignition is too early, maybee colder plug helps, but ilike that engine works without nitro.
Iuse nitro fuel only my .15 -.40 engines ,bigger dont need nitro and idont use 4strokes.

I know this thread has not had any activity for a while, but thought it might be the best to use for my question. I read on a build thread comments on the Schweighofer site that Hanno recommended increasing the dihedral slightly if going with an electric version due to the center of mass being raised slightly because of a lack of tuned pipe and battery installed above the centerline of the fuselage.

Have any of you that built this model done that, and if so, by how much? I just ordered one of these today, so not sure how long it will take to get here. I actually don't plan on working on it until after the first of the year so I'm in no rush.

Thanks.

Nothing wrong with bringing up old threads. Gives us something to talk about.
