Default SPA Legal Airframe Needed

I'm in need of an SPA-legal airframe, preferably something simple like a Kaos set up for a 2-stroke. Please let me know what you have. I'll be attending the Knoxville SPA contest May 18-19.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, did you want to stick build, fiberglass kit, or an ARF?

If someone in the DFW area has one I know of some guys that are also going to Knoxville that can hook Jim up.

I know a guy here who has a compensator that he'd like to sell. He has flown SPA, so I'm guessing the compensator is SPA legal? http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemID=902171

Tim,

I'm open to anything that uses a 2-stroke. I have lots of those and would rather not have to buy a 4-stroke engine.

Scott,

The Compensator would be great except for the 4-stroke requirement. See above.

Thanks,
Jim

The Compensator is legal. Why couldn't you put a 2 stroke on it...too much work to get it ready for this weekend?

There is a response on the SPA Google site now. They have to release your post when you first post so it's on there now.

Thanks, Tim.

SPA President Bruce Underwood made me an offer I couldn't refuse, and I'm now the proud owner of a gorgeous Daddy Rabbit. The pictures were taken in Bruce's shop when we picked it up this afternoon. Lord willing, I'll be able to fly it at Knoxville this weekend.

There seems to be a family atmosphere about this pattern stuff, eh?

After I crashed my own Daddy Rabbit last season Bruce made me an offer I couldn't refuse on his Phantom you see in my avatar, note the familiar color scheme. He's one heck of a guy, leading one heck of an organization. Family is right.

I'm confused. Why could a 2-stroke not be put on the Compensator?

of course it could. Charlie Johns won the season points series in the Sportsman class 2 seasons ago flying a Compensator with an OS 55 on it. Jeff Owens has also flown Expert with a 2 stroke equipped Compensator.

Scott, There is NO SPA requirement for a 4-stroke engine. Only thing I can think of is that the DR in question was already set up for a 4-stroke.

Sorry - "requirement" was a poor choice of words on my part. I meant that I'd rather not have to buy a 4-stroke since the plane was already set up for a 4-stroke, not that it was required by SPA rules.
