RE: MINARE
an old kit made by a company called quality line...perhaps somewhere between '78 and '80
the kit consisted of a fiberglass fuse and foam core wing...much like all the reproduction pattern kits of the time.
After sheeting I covered the wing and stab with fiberglass cloth and painted with ppg acrylic automotive paint.
I clear coated wtih Klass Kote. the lettering was made by Dennis Kirby of Kirby's custom graphics but all the stipes were painted.
the color scheme is my rendition of the original Curare Scheme mixed with whatever photos I could find of the original Minare from the '78 MAN article.
By the way I had never heard of a Curare or any other pattern plane other than the really popular ones until I got this half finished kit from my dad.
It was at that point that I started looking at schemes, primarily on a site I found online called [link=http://www.trentonrcflyers.com/pattern/pattern1.htm]http://www.trentonrcflyers.com/pattern/pattern1.htm[/link] until I decided on this design.
Getting ready to fly it.
It has a Webra 50 with MACs quiet pipe and comes in a little under 5 pounds which is pretty good considering the original weighed 5.5
Hoping it flies well...it is aligned perfectly and has the correct thrust and incidence.
Thanks for all of your interest.
