Default Classic Pattern Association question

I have been getting the itch to get back into old school pattern flying, I joined the CPA and can't find much on their rules. I assume that a .61 is still the max engine size that can be run but O.S. Max does not make a .61 engine anymore, what are you guys running for engines? I see Rossi is still in business and making a .61 but I am a big O.S. Max fan.

Many years ago I built a Trouble Maker, does the Kraft hat give away the age of this photo?

After building big scale stuff it's time to take a break and build a pattern plane!

Jett, Novarossi, YS, Magnum, etc make .61 size engines. Plenty of nib OS engines available on Ebay.

You can use any engine in the 2 stroke variety up to an O.S. Max .65 And up to a 4 stroke 1.20.

Go to the Classic Pattern web site and you can find the rules. http://classicpatternassociation.com/

You can also go to the Senior Pattern web site: http://www.seniorpattern.com/compguide.htm
and get a copy of their rules. There seems to be more Senior pattern contests around than Classic. However we are working on putting together more classic meets.

While at my dad's over the holidays he gave me some old rule books. One still had his call sheet from 1982!. Note the 1981 Novice is the same sequence as the 1982 Sportsman.

I will be CD'ing a contest which will include Classic Pattern over Memorial Day weekend. I hope you can make it up to the FARM (near Bealeton, VA).

Regards,
Don
