Here is a pic of my 18 year old Curare 20, it is still one of the best if not the best planes I have flown in my 20 years of flying-[link]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v117/10-top/ebay012.jpg[/link]

Dave,

If you mean the shots in post 66, the emblem on the right hand wing panel is that of Raiffeisen, the Austrian bank.

Hi Ray

Yes post 66.

"the emblem on the right hand wing panel is that of Raiffeisen, the Austrian bank"

Bloody hell so it is. Ive searched for weeks for that one. Thanks Ray

I noticed that in this pic,

the RH emblem is a 70s styled star (cant find a better pic at the mo). Kept thinking id seen it somewhere. I eventually remebered seeing it on pictures of the Vehicle Assembly Building at kennedy space centre

. Went with that on the rh wing now (looks prettier than the Raiffeisen one)

Anyone know what the LH one is?

I think it a company logo for one of the German model/radio makers.

Another forum in the UK has suggested its the logo from the Tournament of Champions event at "Circus Circus" in Vegas. I can see a similarity (considering the logos is very pixelated) to their "trademark" circus big top but Ive not managed to positively identify it yet.

Any further pointers/suggestions/help anyone?

I know Minare-40 from being 6 years old as my father was flying it. My dream was to construct one . Finally when i became 22 i enlarged plans of Minare 40 to use my OS-61FX. The plane is awesome and the total weight was about 3.2 kg with retracts. It could perform 5 close loops without losing speed and height. It had no flaps but flaperons with two separate servos on each side of wind. This combined with elevator mixing gave very tight loops on both sides. When i painted it became very heavy and lost much of its abilities and the stall speed raised enough. The enlarged model had 1.4m span and this proved to be little. I'm intented to built it again with 1.6 m span with no retracts. If anyone has plans it will be ok ! thank you.

these are my fotos!

Great shots..
I used to have a Curare 20 years ago before smashing it into the middle of a bowling green (Didn't win me any friends)
It was a fantastic machine.
Anyone know where I can get Curare (Any size) plans ? I've love to build another one.

Cheers

There are actually a few options if you want a Curare60...

Links to Plans:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7078918/tm.htm

There is a wood "Short Kit" Available...I have one and it seems pretty nice...I havn't started it yet...
http://www.mybloo.com/coosbay/laser/Projects.htm
(Scroll about 1/3 way sown the page to see Curare)
Contact Info for short kit:
http://www.mybloo.com/coosbay/laser/laser.html

There are some other threads around here which I've seen links to various versions of the Curare...You would have to do a little searching...but there are some Fiberglass versions out there which I think may be available in a couple of different sizes...

Good Luck..Hope you get one!!

Hi Evan.. where do you fly? I'm a Westie... don't get to the field that often at the moment 'coz I'm too busy. Have you got a Curare flying?
I got the info I needed by a very helpful member on this forum.
Cheers

Good lord, so am I (Westie). I fly at Papakura mostly, sometimes seen at Murawai (Western Districts). Curare has been flying for about 5 years...

The magic is nearly ready to fly. My curare is about 25 years old with a new wing, the magic has the original modified curare wing and new fus. When I originally smashed the curare, i never thought it would spawn two models.

Cheers

After several failed attempts where the engine would cut as it leaves the ground, this weekend I maidened the Magic. It flew straight as a die with no trims.

I suspected the pipe was overheating so flew it without fuselage top and cowl. Seemed to prove the theory now I need more cooling flow down the pipe tunnel.

Still got an issue with the engine with a hessitant, rich looking pickup down the strip (its fine at standstill when the throttle is opened) and the occasional momentary faltering of the engine whilst in the air but it seems to recover after a second or two.

Its a webra 61 rear ex with pipe, dynamix carb and perry pump set up. I suspect the pipes too long and when it unloads, it falls "off the pipe" for a while.

Any sugestions?
