MK AURORA 25
Hi!
About two years ago, I got a MK Aurora 25 kit from very old local hobby shop.
So I tried to get orignal MK parts like wheels, spinner,retracts...
Finally yesterday, I made my dream come true.
Special thanks to my mentor M.H. KIM, he did a great work.
(Sorry for my poor English)

RE: MK AURORA 25
First time ,we planned to install MK mechanical retracts into body, but there is no space for two retract servo.
You know, She is so small plane , so we changed mind to use Pneumatic retract. (from hobby king)
The Pneumatic retract from Hobby King has good quality. Only thing that we did is change Air Control Valve to Robart.
elevator : FUTABA S3150
ailerons : HITEC HS82MG 2 EA.
rudder and nose steering : FUTABA S3150 (all pull pull mode)
throttle : HITEC HS82mg
air valve control : HITEC HS56hb
MK Oval fuel tank 180cc for Aurora
IM switch (vintige part)
40mm MK Wheel
52mm MK spinner
10*6 MK prop (for display)
Thanks.

RE: MK AURORA 25
JH,
Just a beautiful little pattern ship! Custom bags to boot!
I have been wanting to build some of these little MK classics for some time so I started an effort to conserve the 25 size designs by redrawing them in CAD so that they can be produced as laser cut kits. I'll post a link to the thread when I'm at a computer.
The Aurora is one of the designs that we decided to go about a little differently. Rather than reproducing from the 25 size plans, we reduced the 60 size plan with the idea of giving it a glow/electric option for power. Like you, we designed around the OS 25/32/35 which have the same crankcase dimensions. Lately, however, I discovered new interesting power plant alternatives in a RE configuration with the Hatori 300 tucked under the fuse and concealed. The engines are the Enya 32 (rare and hard to come by) and the MVVS 28 GFR - both RE engines. The model is designed with plug in wings and a 3/32" sheeted fuse over oval formers.
I believe it will be an outstanding re-design of the Aurora for small engines and 750W motors on 4s. I hope we can finish it one day soon!

Here's the link to the Conservation thread:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8963192/tm.htm
and this is a link to the Aurora "30" development (we renamed it 30 to distinguish it from the original 25 like yours):
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=10197964
It looks like RCU managed once again to loose images from threads...
In truth, the 20 size kits (i.e., Blue Angel, Skymaster, Curare, Magic, Mattlas and Arrow) were for 25-28 size engines while the 25 size (e.g., Cosmos 20, Aurora 25 and Joker 25) were for 28-35 size engines.
The Blue Angel and Aurora are being developed from 60 size plans but re-designed internally. The "Arrow 20" is a subject of a bit of mystery as I've never seen any photos of a model or a kit and according to the experts it never existed. However, there are several indications that Hatori developed fuse top headers for the OS 25 VF and an Arrow 20. Either way, I plan to make one a reality but again, it will be developed from the 40 size plans.
But I digress and shouldn't side track your thread. The MK 20 designs were just jewels of Japanese development and conception in my eyes.

RE: MK AURORA 25
I really like MK 20 size airpalnes, I wish they would still be in production. My current project is an MK Astro 20L, it was first going to be powered by an Super Tigre SL 21 ABC but now I think that will be powered by an OS 25 Brushless motor with an APC 9X6e and 4S battery for around 700 W. What do you think about the power plant?

JHMIN,
I did not see this thread until today and I want you to know how much I enjoy looking at your beautiful model and it's fabulous workmanship. Your internal details are very neat and the involved planning is obvious. Your finish is near flawless and would rival the best F2B finish in the USA!
Congratulations on a very well built model airplane and thanks for showing it to us with your superb photographs.
