Default BPA prop choice for YS 61 R

I have a nearly new YS 61 R, any suggestions for a good BPA speed prop. It's going to be hanging on the Curare that I am building. I've never run a YS 61 before.

thanks in advance

I used to run a 13x10 on a ys 61ar but for speed maybe a 12x10 or 12x7 if you have ground clearance. The plane was a Robbe Saphire that weighted a ton but flew very well. I ran the engine on home brew 20/20 with a Hatori pipe on the long side.

If it is a short stroke YS, I would try an 11x7 3/4 - 11x9. That motor likes to rev.

The LS's like to rev low so start with something in the 12" range with a bit of a bite. Like I said before a 12x10 might be a good option. I don't think you will have ground clearance with a 13". You might also want to try an 11.5x10.5.

If you can ever find one, we used to run a Radio South 103/4 x 71/2. Hard to believe we used to run such a small prop!

Handglider,

I have a YS-61 LS and I had it on a TFrackoviac "Challenge" and I ran an APC 12 x 9 turned approximately 12.5 K on 15% Omega fuel. Great combo and extremely quite. Getting any aircraft/Prop/Fuel/Pipe set up takes some "Tinkering" or it has been my experience, its the WHOLE package so YOU can't just grab anothers recommendation and run.

I have 2 Asano props and 3 DK props which are NOW Classic's!
