Challenger 2 completed! (Well almost)
Well, the Challenger is 95% done, I still need to buy and install the rudder and elevator pushrods as well as balance it, but the bulk of the work is finished. I'm also going to pick up a red spinner for the nose and use the Rit dye method of colorization to dye some APC props in orange.
I guess the trim scheme is pretty mild, but I've never been real good at the artistic side of things
. As soon as I get it 100% done I'll post a flight report (with pics of course) and the all up weight it comes in at. Thanks to all you guys for your advice and nice comments along the build thread. Now, back to priming and sanding on the Curare project!

I bet it feels good to have it mostly finished (or not if you really love building ). I can't wait for the flight report.

Excellent!! Very Very Classy Looking!! Your covering looks Awesome!! I was wondering if it was painted also..he he...
On another note:
OK...I've been totally a slacker...I brought a box home from work today subtable for shipping cloth...I will try to get some off a roll and on it's way...Sorry I've been so slack....
One More Other Note:
Saturday..I went flying for the first time in four or five years!! It was Schweet!! I flew my trusty ole UltraSport 40...Everything went well except my thumb was shaking soooo uncontrollably for the first few minutes...lol
My "Origional" plan for my first flight was to take-off and stay in the pattern to practice some approaches so I could get her back down...But my thumb was literally shaking so bad I had to alter that plan and went for some altitude for a little while to calm down..he he
I finally did...I survived...lol
I did notice that the UltraSport wasn't as smooth as I remembered it though?? Kinda Hacking around the sky for some reason?? Must have been from all that sitting?? Hummmm

1000 points for WEDJ !!! talk about good... catching a rigging error BEFORE getting to the flying field is PRICELESS !!!
I did that on a Tipo one time.... made for an "interesting" takeoff.
Great looking plane.. can't wait to see it fly.

OOPS... well.. sorry about that Propbuster... was just trying to help.. LOL....How's the mold coming?... shoot me an email and keep me updated on your progress..... btw... check the new avatar....doing the prototype now..

No Problem guys, 'preciate you looking out! I've got to get down to the LHS to pick up some pushrod wire still as the ones I made just won't work in the slots cut in foam core fuselage. Instead of 2-56 wire and dowels, I'm going with 4-40 in sleeves. A reversed throw nosewheel would make for interesting takeoffs and landings![X(] The Curare project is going slow, I'm at the priming and MORE sanding stage. Chuck's going to help me out with some cloth for the mold, and I still have to place an order for the resin and such.
Chuck, Here I thought I was the only one who gets sweaty palms and shaky fingers! Glad to hear you're back in the air though! I've been so busy building, I haven't been down to my club field in at least a month myself P.S. Still need those templates if ya want a foam wing core set!! Tim
