T2A Takeoff ?
i have one of the original t2a mark 1 on a trike gear setup. i flew it a few times and it always seemed hard to get it airborne on takeoff from my grass field. Almost like it did not enough elevator authority, plus it took a lot of runway to get airborne. anyone else have this problem. at that time i had a Rossi 60 SE on it , now i put a Supertigre 75. but haven.'t flown it yet. any comments on the long takeoff roll issue? airborne it seems to fly just fine.

Hi pancake.
I fly from a 600' smooth grass runway and use about 300'. Is the nose gear short leading to a negative posture? I have mine balance, w/o fuel, right on the main gear so if I touch the tail, it will fall. When I touch the nose, back on the nose wheel. I fly the Enya .60 AAC Mk.IV with a Mac Black pipe.
Also make sure the wheels spin nice a free w/o any toe in or out, as grass is a huge brake.

notch wing
[QUOTE=edp;12292402]I ended up notching the wing leading edge.
I see the notched area . I may have to do that , because it does have a short nose gear stance on level ground. I always thought there was more than enough elevator to compensate for that. unfortunately this is something that will need to be checked/ flite tested in the spring Funny is mine is also orange and white painted by the previous owner.

I pick up one today from a club member. He must of had it for 20 years. I'm sure it's complete, minus any hardware. I just finished building my King Kobra and maiden it today when I was given the T2-A. So I will take some time to become acquainted and decide what hardware to use with it. Maybe I will use the Fitzpatrick .61 motor I have.

I'm sure I am missing a few minor things with this kit. Does it come with "step by step instructions?" The papers I have says that, but what I have is more like an introductory. If there are, I would love to get a copy from someone. I'm sure I can built it without instructions, but they would be helpful.

No drawings but everything is set 0-0-0. The side thrust is built into the nose ring.
Contact Leo http://www.klasskotemo.com/patternplane.html He makes the T2A's now and will have drawings.

Ed I built this T2AMK11 from a Ballistic Aircraft kit. I was inspired by your Navy trainer scheme. It flies on electric 8S power. It's a good flying sport plane. I thought you'd like to know.
