Default Brand new YS 61 AR RE and Henry Piorun eclipse

Hello everyone, logged in after a very long time. I am cleaning house and some of my airplanes and engines have to go. I have a brand new ys 61 AR RE and also a completley build eclipse pattern aircraft, no servos were ever mounted or controls, just a finished airframe, let me know what you guys think and offer me a price. Please no ridiculous offers, we are all proffessionals here, (almost all). I am also putting an add on ebay, which ever goes first. I would love to sell as a combow but will sell seperatley if needed, the fuse is all fiberglass, the wings are honey combed sheeted with contest crade balsa, very light airplane, thanks. any question feel free to ask.

Hello, I will do $275 for the motor plus shipping, I have it in an auction and the seller fees are ridiculous. I paid over $300 for the motor and its brand new, if not I will keep it. thanks for the interest. shipping should only be around 10-15 dollars at most.

Since you responded on the forum!

I’ll tell you, you overpaid for whatever reason.

Since it’s on E-bay you might as well try your luck there.

I would have offered you a fair market price, based on what I’ve seen and paid for in the past.

I’m in no shortage of YS Motors! You should of PM’ed me.

Maybe someone out here needs the motor badly for their project, if that's the case, then it will sell for you.

Good Luck !

agreed Paul, I've acquired several YS engines .60's and .61's (rear and side exhaust) usually in the $150 range. one of my nib .60's was only $70 on the bay. it just depends on how much of a hurry you're in.

David, you got some good deals there! I would have gone with 30 to 25% off his asking priced shipped, just for an easy transaction, enthusiast to enthusiast but. . . . . Rubbing me . . . . . . . . .!!

I have found a lot of 4, thru an estate seller might just go that way $800 shipped for the bunch, wont separate though, don’t really need four 61, have been holding out for just a single piece as a spare, never really been a fan of the long stroke, always preferred the raw power of 60 roundhead. The 60 will outperform the 61 in all aspects IMO.

I drop more than $1000 in an hour at the tables! $800 for 4 motors might just be worth it!

All said and done, in all probability this thread won’t make it past Monday night.

Ralph, I like that “ Fetish†[sm=biggrin.gif]

That’s only one box, there’s another one here somewhere. [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

YS 2 strokes are the ones to beat! Especially the 60 Roundhead's[sm=thumbs_up.gif]

YS short strokes were the best short-stroke pattern engine made. When YS finally stopped making them (in 1989 I think) the pattern community was ready to beg YS to make some more. The YS longstroke had some set-up 'issues', but was a very strong engine. The YS AR was an excellent engine and had an Aluminum liner making it a bit lighter than the Hanno. The Hanno special with the Shadel (Nelson) AAC piston in sleeve is still my favorite 60 sized engine!

When Futaba took over the distributorship for YS, sales really took off.
This just killed Rossi sales because to get one of them you had to know whose garage the NIB engines and parts were located.
Rossi has as far as I know....never had a decent distributor in the USA until the last few years.

I have a used but still good, undamaged 61 LS I will sell CONUS only.
PM me if interested.
This engine was on a Beetle and an Aurora with the MK variable pitch prop and it ran flawless.
The prop is not for sale!!

Bobby,

glow engines aside, that is one nice looking Eclipse! It almost looks like it should be mounted atop your R8, driven up the road to Whistler and allowed to take off while heading down a straight way! I'm sure the new owner is one happy camper. Did you find someone local or did you have to ship it?

Say, how's the flying near Squamish? Do you have some clubs near by? I used to take that road two or three times a week back when I lived out West.

Cheers, David.

The flying is not that great anymore, there use to be a flying club in the late 80's and till the mid 90's. Then everything just fell apart, some members passed and other got married , which is almost like dying but slowly. I was one of them, I was not even 20. I fly now with my friend who was president of the club. I have been flying all along but only a hand full of times a year, the electric airplanes have kept me in the hobby, I have a two acre back yard which is great , we use to fly our pattern planes at the airport but things have changed. Too much municipal bull**** to deal with now. I am only 35 but life was much simpler back when I was a teen.

There are a few people flying at the pemberton airport, its just too far for me to travel. We have the local ball feilds also, I do miss the get togethers with other members though. I was treated like one of their children, was very nice. I still have two pattern planes that I will keep, both are Henry piorun's meridians. The eclipse mounted on the Audi would be nothing but trouble, the cops are after me every chance they get, they just want to talk about the car most of the time, its fun as long as I am not getting a ticket. The new highway is great but it would be better if it were part of the autobahn. Beautiful road but very hard to keep the car at limit, nice chatting with ya.
