RE: 2nd BPA contest in HSV. AL
Today I went to the BPA web site and did read the BPA rules and unless I am reading and interpreting the rules wrong my Daddy Rabbit and WM Intruder with OS Surpass 91 engines do not meet the engine requirements. I was really looking forward to be part of the BPA and enjoy once again the way I use to fly in the old days. I am building another SPA airplane at this time and the next project is going to be a BPA airplane with a Rossi engine and probably you will see me at the next meeting/contest. My best wishes to all of you.

Alright, I'm pissed! Let me tell you a little story.
I missed flying in last years event because I was busy with work, etc. and simply couldn't rearrange my schedule for it. Therefore, I took it upon myself to plan SUPER SUPER early and clear everything out of the way. Nothing can take precedence, right? WRONG!!! Ugh, my sister just had to set her wedding date right on top of the friggin' meet. [:@]
Not that I'm unhappy about going to the wedding, but Jesus, can I just get some free time to go to this darn meet once in my life?? Perhaps I'll make it before I die, perhaps not...
Rant over.

NO NO NO There are no "black list" of aircraft. There is a guideline like 72 inch wingspan and 15 cc engines, but, unless you bring out like a 2 meter plane, you are more than welcome to compete. I was the biggest naysayer on 15 cc engines and have since been on their side completely. Thats 91's either 2 or 4 stroke. We had about 7 or 8 SPA planes last year and Bob Underwood himself flew and enjoyed himself. Gary will let just about any type of plane to enter, and fly. The idea of BPA is to be inclusive, and enjoy the non-turnaround type planes, pipes and retracts are encouraged. If you designed a plane today, and it's around 72 inch wing and has 60-90 engine, come and fly. I hope that I have explained it clearly. Maybe Gary will better explain.

Uuuuh yea. Mr Hester is correct. I had forgotten that the rules that BPA is following is like 1994 or 1995 and 20 cc engines were the critters of choise then.

I wished I could have gone, but too much in too short of time. Still getting ready for Tenn the end of the month, but hopefully next year I'll be there again. I know the Orlando crew would have liked to have gone too.... next year we'll all be there.
Got a short note from Gary: They had 12 contestants [], 4- Masters, 2-Adv, 3-Spts and 3 Novice.
