Here's another Airplane that needs a name
Hello everyone
This is my first post and I have a question for everyone, what kind of plane is this? I got it, along with 2 other planes, from a man that flew in the 1980's. I did some work on a motorcycle for him and he gave them to me. I know what the other 2 planes are, so here's some photos of this one. I looked in my old late 70's early 80's RC mags and I think it is either a Super Curare or a Tiporare. It did come with air retracts and an OS 61 RF with a tuned pipe. It does not have flaps like a Curare.
Thanks for any input.

Sell off that quiet, poky OS .61RF and get a nice AXE Rossi .61SE (side exhaust) and either a Jett or Ultrathrust muffler for legal SPA flying. I'm assuming that the Curare is SPA legal. If not, it is BPA legal, for sure.
In fact, if your OS .61RF is NIB, I'll trade you even up for a NIB AXE Rossi .61SE and take that first cousin to a John Deere glow engine off your hands. <G>

not a Magic - cowl chin is not the same. It is open for the inverted engine. My vote for a Curare ( or close copy of Curare, such as Career).

It does look like the Career 60 in the pic by roncoleman but it also really looks like the pic of a Super Curare I found in an old Hobby Barn ad. I will post more pics of it tonight.
Thank you everyone for the input.

Its definitely an FK Career 60 from Mutchler's hobbies. I just sold mine last week. That's my back door in post #12. I sold the SBA 60 to 8178 last month.
Thanks

casniffer, dang it, i forgot to keep bidding on your FK Career last week. i would have paid more than what it sold for. we should give our fellow forum members a chance to buy these planes before they disappear on the bay. although any minute someone will chime in as the happy buyer of your career.

Gee, Forgot to add that my reproduction of the "Super Curare" from Quailty Line Kits is back in the works, as I just recieved the FG cloth from my good buddy in Ga to make the mold!! I'll keep you all posted as it comes along.

dhal22,
I thought it would go for more as well. I listed 4 fuselages on RCU almost a month ago; FK SBA 60, FK Career 60 and two fuselages that may have been Atlantas for 500.00 and 8178 was the only person that seemed interested and all he wanted was the SBA 60. He has been looking for the SBA since 1992!!!!.
Thanks

Propbuster,
Can you give me the specs for the Super Curare? wingspan, length, area, weight, designer etc? I would like to include it in my [link=http://www.trentonrcflyers.com/pattern/classicpatternlist.htm]Classic Pattern Plane List. [/link].
Thanks

dhal22,
Yes, I'm the lucky (and I do mean LUCKY) one to capture the FK Career from CASniffer! I actually just put a bid in and hoped it would last until the wee hours of the night when the bidding ended. I bought it to go with a Hobby Barn Quality Line "Minare" I already own (.40 size Curare). They should make a great pair. I hope the Career arrives in great shape CASniffer! Pack it well!
