That young lady was Charlene and was Cliff's wife but the radio was a PCS which was partially a kraft product . There were several Kraft knock off like PCS,
KSE, KGL and the Tower radios were aall basically Krafts. I still have a PCS 4 downstairs. Just the radio not the girl. If I can find an add I'll scan it and post.

Hope this helps.

Peace

IIRC, the PCS brand was owned by Kraft. True?

I had a few of the 6 volt "Kraft" sport radios (including the Tower) and they worked well enough. Not top of the line performance, but more than adequate for sport flying.

I miss Kraft and the feel of their gear.

I miss Kraft and the feel of their gear.
It's hard to beat the simple functional beauty, isn't it?
Here's mine, modified to take a 50mHz Futaba module.
I take it out and fly it on occasion, usually at VRCS events.

So it's possible to resurrect them.

Ahhh.....thanks for clearing that up RFJ.

WEDJ - yes she does. But to me, she reminds me more of the actress that used to do the shaving cream ads. Take it off, take all off!!! Wish I could find a pic of her......

Hey Boys:

We're starting to sound like dirty old men. When those adds were new it was just "Dirty Men" the OLD just showed up with time.
Guess if your PCS was working well you could have a "Fantastic Voyage" and then we would think about Raquel Welch.

The Good Old Days

I would like to get my PCS running one of these days but it seems unlikely. I do have a couple of EK's that are converted to new frequencies with new AM receivers and modern servos. I think I am going to take a cheapie computer radio and change the stick pots and stuff the guts into one of the old EK's and go that route. THose old sticks and lack of set up stuff is hard to go back to.

Peace

Free Bird,
You are thinking of Gunilla Knutson. I guess that I am just putting an expiration date on myself with that bit of remembered trivia.

That commerical sure brings back a lot of pre-teen memories!

OK enough of this, let's get back on topic. I don't have a lot of old magazines to scan ads from, but I know that there's lot of you that do have old magazines, so let's see some more ads!

Speaking of dirty old men, I can only imagine what they were thinking about the nekkid lady in the "Rubber Ducky" slope soarer ads in RCM. I was only about 8-10 and I remember getting "tingly". I didn't know why it was interesting, but I sure as hell couldn't look away!

Maybe I will try to dig one up and scan it. It would be barely PG-13.

Right now I'm digging thrue a big box of RCM mags from 1978 and up to 1985.
It's much more fun and informative the the latest MAN I got to day[X(]

I just started my first pattern build today, it's a curare.
I'm doing this for practice so I can build my Crusader later this winter.
I have done to ARF Kwik fli's but that don't count

Take care all dirty old men

P.S I found some old pics of my dads, from the 1972 WC in FAI pylon racing.
should I post them so you can see if you recognise any one?

I had both of these radios at one point back then. I don't know what it is about those old Great Planes Ads they sure had a wow factor to them. I don't see that same with new ads of anything. Simply knife egde and I just have to have one.

I remember going through my magazines cover to cover looking for new airplanes and wishing I had more money to buy some of the not so old as well.

Some eye candy from the '70s. Notice that RCM and the Brit magazine RCM&E sometimes got their pictures from the same source. They also made sure they didn't duplicate each other.
