Nice. :-)
Now what order should I build them? What do you want to see after the Mach1?

The VF is the standard FIRE. The Arrow is an MK kit, the rest are glass/foam, except the Calypso of course.

In a brief period of poor judgment, I sold the Rossi.

RE: Mach 1 Build
That's a bit of a stretch I'd say. Hard to compare a 1/2A 40" span model to a 60 size model but in general yes, the idea is to preserve the planforms and moments when the little pattern models like the Mach None were designed. I built a Mach None back in the day but unfortunately never got to fly it. Left it back with dad on my way to college. I remember it was my first attempt at covering a plastic canopy with Ekonokote. It didn't turn out as well as I hoped - paint would have been better...

RE: Mach 1 Build
Before putting the M1 on hold, I had made a template for cutting out the retract mounting locations and wheel wells from some 1/32" plywood. I used my Craftsman soldering iron and some "electric fence" wire I had laying around to cut out the foam where needed.
I'm sure some of you are saying to yourself, there's a better/cleaner way, but for me, it's quick and easy.
Next step is to mount the 1/4" plywood retract mounting plate (with dowels) and line the wheel wells with balsa.
There's also an overall shot of it's current state.

Those gear are MK, OK or Supra - all made by the same manufacturer and branded accordingly. I just can't recall what model they are if MK. Let me check... (luckily my wife put a bunch pf RC paperwork in a drawer )
Actually MK's flyer doesn't show an black gear and I believe Supra gear was typically anodized green. Maybe OK, they did make black gear. In any case, nice metal trunion.

Thanks for the clarification Jeff - I knew someone would recognize them.
Granted, probably still made in Japan by the same manufacturer and just branded by Royal.

Yep, I'm still here. I left North Carolina for Vegas on Monday. Was supposed to stay in Vegas 'til Thursday evening to catch the races Fri, Sat, Sun. Ended up staying an extra day to visit with my dad. I guess sometimes you do get lucky in Vegas. We had box seats by the way.... eerie.....
Thanks for checking in on me! I could read posts but got an error everytime I tried to post something.
I get chills everytime I look at Vince's pictures.

Back at it.
Reatract mounting plates are done and installed. I set up the mounting plates for the "Royal" retracts I had on hand. I discovered that one of the retracts were broken so I was in search for a replacement. F3AUnlimited has MK retracts in stock so I ordered a set of mains from them. Other than the <caugh> <gasp> $100 for the set, I'm very happy with my purchase from F3AUnlimited. I ordered some MK "lightweight" wheels and the MK offset linkage for the retract servo as well.
The retract mounting plates are made from 1/4 ply. The dowels are 1/4 inch dia by 1" long. Holes in the foam for the dowels were made by heating up a 3/16 drill bit.
Next step will be to install the wheel wells and retract pushrods (to check for clearance).

Good stuff Jeff.
I guess sky blue is the new cool Japanese colour for wheels. Are the nose wheels any stiffer than the mains? The older MK wheels had large rims on the 1-3/4" and 2" wheels making for a pretty firm nose wheel. The larger 2-1/4" wheels used the same size hub (or perhaps slightly larger) so were softer for landing. Compared to DuBro and the like they are quite a but stiffer though.
