RE: Great Planes Tiporare – Thirteen Year Build

8178,

How has that APC 12/10 prop been working? Did you stick with that size or change and did you experience any right turn problems mentioned earlier? Also, what is your horizontal stab anhedral set to and what angle do you recommend for pipe with respect to knife edge? thanks

The 12/10 seems to work fine and the pipe is in a straight line back from the header pipe. The 12/10 is what I recall most people using on the OS 61SF-P with a pipe. The anhedral is as shown on the plans.

8178,
what were the header and pipe part numbers?

I guess my question should be: Which MACS header fits better on the Tipo, LONG 2-3/8" or EX-LONG 3-1/8"? Thanks

I do not recall the header length because I bought it a very long time ago, but “long” seems like the one. The side view pic here might help http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=3524482

Hello 8178,
How do you store your plane with the landing gear extended? Or did you find the way to keep it retracted?

Best Regards,
Rick

Still flying the Tiporare. Had to replace the old original 1992 vintage Spring Air main gear last year because they developed a slow air leak. They were so old that there were no parts available for repair. Nose gear is still OK.

Great update for a plane and build thread. Long live the Tipo.
