Good thanks Pylonboy, Skully may have not made it back home yet. It took me just a little over 3 hrs and thats with one pit stop for premium gas and a NOS energy drink. Skully may still be collecting road kill on the way home[8D]

We just had a race today...you should've been there! It was a good time. Racing is racing no matter how ugly the airplane is. What do you race? I've never heard of you....

Reply to johnnychimpo,
First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your service.
We used to have a lot of AMA racing in Dist VIII, especially in the Houston Area, 5 to 10 years ago. 428 was pretty hot with at least 15 pilots in it at any one event. 422 had maybe 5 to 10 pilots. It just dwindled as the regulars got older and more tired, and not enough newbies stepped up to take their place. The planes got more expensive and faster. Plus the three pole course was cumbersome to set up and it took an extraordinary amount of people to run it. The numbers of participants and money droped so low that most of the clubs around Texas just decided it wasn't worth their time to host an event.
The EF1 shows promise. I understand they race on a two pole course in Dallas. I saw one run at the Club 40 race yesterday, and it peaked my interest a little. I wonder how many batterpacks they need to take for a race to get a couple of practice laps and complete 5 rounds. Can anyone tell me? It seems that if you have two chargers going, you could get by with three - one in the plane, the other two charging. Also, what size are the packs?

Perhaps one of the EF-1 guys can go through all electric equipment needed for a Ready-To-Fly competitive airplane. As I understand it this might be a starting point:
Airplane - Covered = $130
Motor = $20
ESC (Speed Control) = ?
Battery (each) $20
Radio -Servos (4) Your Choice.
Battery Charger = ?
Meanwhile - back to Club 40. The pictures that will come in should be interesting. Let's just say the weather conditions made breaking 1:30 a challenge!
I'll start the pics off with this one...(wink)
Note to Don: Yes, I did splice into your communication link to #2 pylon

We had 3 Rookie pilots at our race so we handed out a Rookie of the Year award. That went to Mike Fisher.

I wasn't the cut judge at 1 I was just standing behind him, he called the cut, not me. But I did see it and agree it was a cut.

I found an error on the paper copy for the race results. Jason Duda had 15 points going into the A Main heat but double cut trying to catch his buddy Oliver. The standings don’t change, I just want it to be correct.
Here are the CORRECTED race results of the Georgetown 11-13-2010 Club 40 Race

Here is the timing data from the race. I enjoyed the race as well even though my luck was on the bad side. Look forward to 2011 season.

Just to clarify Bob: Duda wasnt chasing me,it was the other way around. He was on 1st flag and got a great take -off and jumped about 100 feet ahead of me. I was the one chasing him. I dont think I would have caught him if he hadn't cut. I guess it was just my day. Doesnt always happen that way but great race and great people made for a great weekend.

I also wanted to comment on Ken Hopson..........people need to really watch out for this guy. Everytime he races he gets better and better, I was really impressed with how he is getting around the course. My hats off to Ken Hopson!!!!!!! after the races were over skully commented on the most improved pilots and he was never mentioned, well I am mentioning him now

they're not to bad J. they run about the same speed as Club 40, I have the set up and have flown with Gene. The only problem I have is driving 250 miles one way for 2 hours of racing. I'll make it one day, for a race, but not the entire series.

yeh, just like he said, I had a serious sugar rush, it made me delerious, so much so that I actually let Skully take my place in 'D' Main; a lot a good, a waste of my place in 'D' main with his DQ; but the brownie sure was great!

Fellow Club 40 Racers,
Had a great time at the Georgetown Race. Met some more folks and finally got it going with a D-Main win, C-Main win and a close second to Richard in the B-Main. Steve Blackwell was good for me as helper/caller. Thanks Steve. I actually had my best time (1:31.1) so far in three races I made this year.
Bob, as far as discussion about engine rules, etc. my input is leave it as stock, any prop, any glowplug, any bearing, any head shim (or no head shim if desired).
Pass my thanks to your workers!!

Honkerbird & A6TEXAN The RCPRO rules committee is still in the discussion stage about 2011 rules, nothing posted as yet.
However we have been knocking around a clarification issue about the head shim. The rules as currently proposed allow the gaskets to be replaced from any source. There is no mention of a head shim. The clarification would define gaskets and head shims as separate items. Also the proposed clarification would require that the stock head shim remain in the engine.
Since Club 40 is a regional event each area may make its own modification to the RCPRO rules. In the coming months The CD’s in our Texas area will discuss this and other issues before the 2011 racing season starts.
our moto remains "WIN WITH PRIDE, FOLLOW THE RULES"
I’m glad everyone had a good time, so did I
