RE: 2011 C40 race schedule for N. Alabama
Now, if you get 35 of them at the same race, that would be a record. Current record is 32 in 2007 at Seguin, TX You go guys!!!

We will work on that Ken
I know one or two guys from our club ( Birmingham RC) that couldnt make the big Huntsville race as well as Im sure a couple from our neighboring club Alabaster RC wasnt able to attend either, so who knows just how big this will get in 2011 ? [sm=drowning.gif]
And if YOU come down next year to see us and race , that will be +1 right there

Ken,
2007 to my memory was a wipeout - - didn't happen. I know that I was there, we set up the the 3 pole couse, but it rained like hell, and the club did not have enough workers to judge the course. So these entries really do not count!

The May 2007 race is what Ken is referring to. This is the photo from the October 2009 Model Aviation Pylon Racing for Everyone article.

Don answered before I got here, but yes, there it is and was. Chuck Waller and George Sheffield were the event managers. Don't remember if we had a sanction or not. Sanctioning is a good way to let the world know that there is racing going on.
Anyway, keep up the good work in Northern Alabama and Southern Kentucky, guys.

Have all of the race dates been verified? I want to plan my season.
Also, thought I would let everybody know, that the local HobbyTown USA that my son works at is going to let me take pylon planes (Skyraiders and LA Racers), props and motors to all of the races that I can attend next year. If you guys will give me a "grocery" list of the props you plan on using, I will try to have a supply on hand in case of problems. I'm not selling these for a profit or anything other than trying to provide supplies for our group to use. The planes are $89.99 - Skyraider, $94.99 LA Racer and the props are normal $2-3 or so each. I'll have to get pricing on the motors. Of course I do have to add tax to those prices. And the normal disclaimer that if the prices increase in the future I'll have to do that too. Your thoughts.

That would be a very nice convienince to have all that on hand at the races to buy if need be. It would probably help more people stay in the races longer if they break a prop or something.

Thats a nice gesture Jamie, thank you.
To answer your question about the verification of the dates, Bham RC is good to go with whats posted,... bring your crying , ooops I mean, bring your flying clothes with you on those dates and lets get it on
Is it just plain COLD out there now or what? I think the weatherman said it got down to around 14° last night here in Bham. Im guessing it was even colder up in North Alabama?
Jamie, have you bought my Christmas present yet? Let me guess.... you have bought me a bunch of "special props" that you insist on me using next season? Maybe in sizes like 9x1 and 10x1 and they have a specially made heavy brass hub and the prop alone weighs in at 2 lbs !

John,
You're close. It's a special prop made just for you. The specs are 16x1 and machined from high grade stainless steel. It has tremendous pull in the corners and great braking for those perfect landings.........You just have to figure out how to let it idle on the ground..................

I just bought two new TT Pro 40 engines at Hobby Town, one to replace the blown one and a spare. Greg at Hobby Town is a great guy and I like buying at a LHS when I can.
Two new SRMKII are sitting in boxes ready to be built. Now, if I can just find the time........

I too have stocked up recently, I picked up 2 engines as well at a really really really nice price, I just couldnt pass them up. Nothing wrong with having a couple of spares in the drawer, right? RIGHT??? Are we obsessed or what?

I already see 2 conflicts with SPA Pattern contests on the calendar. That will take at least 3 of us out as Pattern is a priority with us. It is still early and the dates of everything could change. There are 8 SPA Pattern contests during 2011 and I am shooting for a top 2 in the Novice class. The rest of the time I will be un-restrained with purtty and focus on FAST! I really want to beat the

My priorities are straight!
Pattern flying = Skill
Pylon racing = Speed
Combat = Luck
Speed and luck are no good without a little skill!!!!!!! [sm=idea.gif]
