I'll be there!

Sorry I missed the last two races but this blasted sinus problem I've had (now going on SIX WEEKS!) and working weekends was not in my racing plans.

Dave, I sure hope to be there for your scale event Nov 5th. I dont think my hellcat is going to be ready to fly by then, but I'll come out and support you guys any way I can.

Now,....about this Club40 race next Saturday.....Las Vegas bookies are cruntching the numbers and making odds as we speak. Who's gonna pull this one out of their hat?
All I know is there will be lots of good pylon pilots there so its anybody's ballgame. Maybe I can sneak some pickles mickey'ed with sleeping serum into one of D2's hamburgers so it will knock him out for the rest of the race? He'll probably reply that if I do that, he's gonna knock ME out!! LOL

LETS GO RACING GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ernie and I will be riding together and hauling the race stuff we need. The weather looks like it will be perfect!

Robin has had its legs repaired and is ready to back up Batman in case you Jokers mess with him.

See you guys around 8-ish tomorrow morning. I'm drinking about a gallon of Redbull before the race.

I could not agree with you more D2...that was some of the closest and best racing Ive ever witnessed.
If you guys can give me a day or two, I will post results as well as pictures.
All I'll say is that if you were not here Saturday, you missed out!
I think there were either 18 or 19 pilots on the roster. That is a very very nice crowd!!
More to come soon.
Thanks to everyone for making this race a big success!!!

I agree! WHAT A RACE!!!

Lots of great competition and enough carnage to make a NASCAR fan happy!

Bosworth (Bos)  and I got into it for the A Main and had TWO midairs we were so close! The first was a wing tip to wing tip tap. The second was our two planes banging together like two pancakes stacked up. Our rules require us to land after a midair for safety. We both landed without any problem and I could not find any damage to my airplane but Bos had about a 1/4 inch missing off of one prop blade. Dang, I wish I hadn't pointed that out to him.......

DP2 asked what we wanted to do to resolve third and fourth place and we both said RACE!

Both Bos and I (and everyone else) was expecting bloodshed with this grudge match but it wasn't to be. The engine on Batman just went sour and would not turn up. Bos got me by about half a lap. Way to go Bos, you deserved the 3rd place.

THIS IS WHAT C40 IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT!!!!!!  We had a blast!

I'm still pumped! Can't wait until Nov 19th.

Here is a view of the scoreboard and as you can see, there was very little points spread between several pilots. We ran 6 hard rounds throughout the day, then tallied up the points earned to determine who would be in the 2 Main races at the end of the day. It was determined there would have to be a 3 way fly off for 3rd place in the A main that would include Tim Batt, Art Azlin and myself, all with 19 points . We got cranked up and flew hard when the zero horn buzzer sounded off, so hard in fact that I didnt notice the left pylon pole on about the 5th or 6th lap. I flew right square smack into it! LOL I wonder why those poles have something against these airplanes? These poles never wants to yield any space those dang poles!!!

And as an added bonus, here is Dave Phillip's receiving a well deserved award for all he has contributed to the RC community throughout the years . Alot of folks dont realize this, but D2 has hosted many events as being the CD. As we all know, this is not a easy job but D2 makes it happen. Even thought his momma dresses him funny, he is a great guy and I am proud to have him as a friend.
Congrats on doing a fine job Dave!!!
