Got out to the field this morning and rang out my primary and backup and they are both flying straight and true so I am all set for Sunday. Looks like the wind should be down so it should be a great day of racing. Looking forward to seeing all the guys.

Blessings, Terry

Hi Guys,

It was a really nice turnout and a lot of fun. Here is a report from the CD, Bob Estrella.

CLUB 40 PYLON RACE REPORT
November 11, 2012

Our last Club 40 Race of the year was held at the Gilman Springs RC Flyers Field on November 11, 2012. We had ten registered Race Pilots (Gilman Springs RC Flyers – 3, Victor Valley RC Flyers – 5, Hemet Model Masters 2). The weather started out very nice in the early morning, but the wind came up pretty strong by Race Time. Race Pilots were not deterred by the strong winds, though, and racing started at around 9:30am. Of course, this added challenges for the pilots and excitement for the spectators. Takeoffs and landings were exciting, and pilots had to face some pretty rough air aloft. Nevertheless, we were able to run four rounds of qualifying Heats, and a “Money Race”.
We thank all those who worked to put on this Race: Bob Estrella – Event Director/Registration; Darrell Ivie – Safety Inspection/De-Fueling/Weigh-in/Fueling; Bruce Baker, Larry Haase, Bruce Anderson – Computer Crew; Ralph Torres – Flight Line Boss; Bill Rothenbuhler, Pete Souder, Skip Shaw, Richard Shaw – Pylon Judges; Roy Truitt, Goldilocks, Cindy Rozo, Cindy Rozo’s friend – Lap Counter “Pickle Switch” Operators; and Bob Jones – Lunch Concession.
