Well I flew the LA Racer with up flaparons mixed with the elevator. The plane flew fine but it’s hard to tell if it’s going any faster in the turns. I started with 10% for the first flight then increased it to 15 %. I’ll have to see how it works in a race.

Did you get the left turn signal fixed?

Well yesterday I raced the LA Racer at the Hico Texas race. I came in third in the A-Main. I like the elevator-aileron mix idea very much. I’m now planning on putting two wing servos in my Sky Raiders.
See you in T-Town

Barry, I beg to disagree.
A mistake by WM on a few kits should not change the rules.
Until they start shipping ALL LAR's with the short gear that should not make it legal to change the gear.

If someone has an LAR that came with the short gear I supose it would be legal, but changing the gear would not.

If you need some long landing gear I have some.

Bob, some of the LAR40's were shipped with the SRMII landing gear so???? that makes the SRMII gear legal on the LAR40.

Nah,  I have always had the long ones on mine so far.  I do have lots of short one left over from the carnage of the last four years.

Yup, we do acquire a lot of spare parts. Could be that travelling around with Loaners and letting everyone fly them might cause more spare parts than actually racing.

Ok, here's the theory part. On a high wing plane like a Cessna where the wing is above the thrust line, when you pull in flaps, the nose of the plane pitches up, and you have to add down trim. On a low wing plane like a Cherokee, when you pull in flaps, the nose pitches down and you have to add up trim.
I am disagreeing with you. I got my pilots license on a PA38 (Tomahawk) which is low wing. Pulling the flaps made the nose pitch UP and meant I had to dial in DOWN trim. There were 2 stages. Ended up with nose down attitude so could see clear view of the touchdown point on the runway.

Not being a full size pilot I am not sure of the fine tuning for them. As for the SRMII and The LA Racer I always check the engine thrust angle and the wing incidence and decalage and adjust as necessary.
