Hico, TX Club 40, August 25, 2012
Another race is scheduled at the “Field of Dreams”. The Hico club is putting on another Club 40 race on Aug, 25. For those of us that have been there we love this venue; great people and a great site. For those that have not been there you are missing a unique experience. All that plan on attending please post here so there is enough food and drink available.

The field will be open all day Friday for practice. The only motel in Hico is the Hico Hills Inn, phone # 254-796-4217. The field has 8 full RV hook-ups, but 5 are occupied. I will post a flyer next week. Any questions please call Charles Krempin @ 254-784-3215 or e-mail at [email protected]

I know of at least 5 guys from Georgetown that would come race in the big D if they would have a Club 40 race! We all have the Club 40 racers but no Q-25's Fred French and Jason Duda are the only ones here with EF-1's

I will say that MIke Buckalew and myself hadquite the adventure at this race.It started from thetime I picked him up at 9:30 AM friday morning until I dropped him off at 8 Pm Saturday night. It was a long drive but certainly well worth the time spent. We had a greattime at the race and enjoyed seeing the regulars again.
Kudos, to the Hico group for an excellent event with minimum carnage and all their hospitaliity from the time we arrived on Friday afternoon untill we departedSaturday afternoon.
Thanks,
Ted

The Hico Field of Dreams race was a tad windy from what we have been used to at Hico! The wind was wanting to role your plane over in the turns but the carnage was minable! Ken Hopson did a nice job working his way through the B main into the A main! The A main was a good start with Jason Oliver jumping out to a half strait on me for the first 4 laps until Jason lost the back half of his muffler! At that point Richard Mole and I ran lap after lap trying to get a lead on the other right down to the end of the race and Richard edged me out by a nose at the finish! It was a d@mn good race!

As for Club 40 racing it is NOT a rule. Also there are no AMA rules for Club 40, other than the "Set backs" for the race course.

There is a AMA rule and just like set backs it's up to the CD of the contest to set the rules he wants to use. Not defending or agreeing. Jason was smoking on Saturday had the A main won by half a lap until his muffler came apart. Per the rules used at Hico even if he had won which did not, he would have been, or was DQed.
