Default Georgetown TX, Club-40, Sept. 21 2013

Attention Club 40 Pilots, the Georgetown Club 40 race will be held on September 21, 2013. We will fly five rounds and then the A, B, C Mains. This seems to be the format that everybody likes. Also, please take notice that the date has been moved up one week to the 21[SUP]st[/SUP] so be sure to change your calendar.
See the attached flyer for all important race rules information, and go to our web site www.gamarc.org for club and field info.
Bob, the attachment will not work. this new system sucks

yes, this "update" limits you to ~20kb for .pdf's. The file is only 388kb.

Don’t let this stupid new web site curtail our trash talk. Let’s trash talk it up to the max, that way we will know the good points of this new web site; and be able to complain about the stupid stuff that they should change.
For example, I have found a fatal flaw. It is aggravating to receive an e-mail that a new post has occurred on a topic you are interested in, and then have RCU take you back to the very first post in that thread. There are 350 posts in this thread, and climbing, and every time I get an e-mail of a new post and click on the link, it takes me back to the first post in the thread. I do not want to re-read all the old posts.
Now that really sucks.
The old system would take you directly to the new post. Why can’t the new system do that?

Sounds like the pylons are going up Saturday if any of you Waco / Hico / Alvin hotdogs wants to come over this extended weekend! They will be up until after the race on September 21[SUP]st[/SUP].

OK all you sleepy heads, this is a reminder that GAMA is having its fall Club 40 race on the 21[SUP]st[/SUP]. Our gourmet cook wants to know how many of you slow pokes will he be feeding. Please let me know if you are coming and what secret prop you will be using.
I have posted this reminder on RCU and rcgroups, and I have sent e-mail. Hopefully everyone will get the word.

Bob,
The plane has arrived, and been assembled, first tank of fuel has gone through the motor.. stout. Turned 19K on 5% nitro 23%oil. it was hard to get the hub not to split when I drilled the 4.5 x 4.5 prop to fit!!!!

It has to be the Ugliest color combo I have ever seen, its too bad you have to see it from the rear tho.

All up weight is 4 lbs 6.5 ounces, do I need to add weight? I remember you saying something about 4.5 lbs.

Chuck minimum weight is 4.5 lbs. and we do weigh the planes. Be sure to read the Club 40 rules posted at www.rcpro.org. I know many pattern pilots use EZ connectors on servo arms; they are NOT allowed in racing except on the throttle connection. That 4.5X4.5 prop will take some time to get up to speed, about 12 laps. It should be going pretty fast after everyone else has landed. Don’t worry about the ugly color combo, I have seen many bad color combos from the rear; but that was as I lapped the sucker.
We’re glad to have you in our racing fraternity. Pattern flyers learn fast, so we won’t take it easy on you.

What time Friday will the field be opened? I'm coming in from GA Thursday as well as my brother from Tuscaloosa and we would like to get in some practice time Friday.

Also, how will the races start? ROG or Flying Start?

If ROG will it be standing start or will the planes be restrained by the caller?

Bigblueswope, glad to have you guys! The field should be open by mid morning! What time you coming in? The starts will be held by your caller or pit man! Us Texan’s are a little slow out here, us old-timers like a nice easy slow start....

As Gary said, us’ens are a bit slow. I will be there Thursday and leave the gate open for you early Friday arrivals, that way I can sleep in until 6 am. Make yourself at home. I’ll see you about 10 AM.

I'll need to pick up fuel for Friday's practice, is there a hobby shop in Austin/Round Rock that carries the stuff?

Will, here is a link to the nearest hobby shop that will have fuel. http://www.bing.com/local/details.as...n+TX&FORM=LARE We use 15% nitro for the race; unfortunately the fuel for the race won’t arrive until Saturday morning. We will be using Ritch’s Brew fuel and it’s coming from Houston. If you don't get fuel not to worry, I will have plenty of fuel with me.

Thanks guys! Turns out my brother has an extra gallon at the house that he's bringing with him (we met up in T-Town yesterday for some practice and so I could give him my planes for him to bring along). BTW, I'm BJ. WSwope (Will) is my brother, he's the good pilot and I'm the handsome pilot

I'm very much looking forward to this weekend. We appreciate your hospitality!

Skully, north wind 10 to 15 is a piece of cake for hotshot Club 40 pilots.

This RCU is all fudged up. When I log on, the top of this thread says 1-24 of 24 but I can only see 21 post. There is NO page 2 for the other post. I don’t think RCU will ever fix the problems they have created. Is anyone else having similar problems? this should be post 25. is it?
