Club 40 Race in Alabaster, AL October 26th?
Is there indeed going to be a race in Alabaster on the 26th?
I saw it mentioned on the "Any More Club 40 in AL or TN this Year?" thread but haven't seen a thread dedicated to this race.

Will,
I did not have a thread dedicated to the Alabaster contest !! I used the "any more club-40 in Ala." thread to posted the date, and that we will do the Chili cook off for lunch !! I'm only going to fly Club-40 because of it being a one day event.
Dave ..

Thanks for the update, I just wanted to make sure the date was indeed what was listed in the thread you mentioned.

Ok ladies and gentlemen, with Dave's blessing here is the info for the last race of the year in ALabama for Club40.

Current Alabama Club40 rules will apply. You can find the current Alabama C40 rules here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/club...b40-rules.html (f you are not sure about your airplane and its equipment) . If you still have questions after reading the rules, please ask and someone will get your answer to you.

***********PLEASE REPLY TO THIS THREAD TO LET DAVE KNOW THE HEAD COUNT FOR LUNCH AS WELL AS TO GIVE HIM A GOOD IDEA OF THE NUMBER OF PILOTS THAT WILL BE ATTENDING***********
There will be trophies awarded for C Main, B Main and for the Grande Finale A Main race.
Hardhats will be required on the flightline as well as on the area where the starting tables are located.
This should be a great time to come out and do some racing and fellowship with everyone that you have not seen in a while. The weather should be better this time of year too with a touch of Fall thats in the air now!! And along with that may mean a little faster speed on the planes too!!
So what are you waiting for ???? Get signed up and come out and support the Alabama Club40 effort and enjoy a great day of racing, chili and all the other things that goes with it.

I am trying out EXI D122F digital servos and they appear to be working well despite the low price tag.

BigBlue, The flying field is located in Limestone Park on Highway 31 near Saginaw. Take I 65 south from Birmingham to Exit 238
Alabaster/Saginaw Ex. Stay on Highway31 for about 2 1/2 miles and the flying field in on the right side of the road. Look for sign at the
gate into the field !!

I know we arent going to have ef1 races at alabaster, but just in case, or for future use i programmed an additional 10 second timer. Now you can push one button for 30 seconds or the other button for 10 seconds.

I plan on bringing my EF-1 for show and tell. Maybe a demo flight if anyone is interested.
We need to do something to keep the racing alive. Adding in more classes might work. Right now attendance is so low that the local races are just about not worth the effort. WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING! A Cracker Barrel meeting should be planned at the race. Second week in November or January?
Anyway, I'm ready for the Alabaster race. It will be great to see the Gang again!

Agreed Tim. Even though this is my first race I want to help this grow. Just the practice I've been doing at my home field in Jersey, GA, even without poles or anybody to run against, is generating interest in my club. Hopefully this can spark some interest around Atlanta.

These are even cheaper and work great. $4.59 each. I tried some digitals and Club 40 racing just isn't worth putting that kind of money in a plane that is destined for a big old midair.......five years of racing and five planes. I know, I know, five planes is just a good start for DP2 and MOO-MAN. RIGHT? What is your count guys? It's ok, you are allowed to take your shoes off to count as long as we aren't around to smell them.
