Will, I just ordered 20 large invisible drag chutes for all the non club members and 15 XL for the Texas guys, hope thats enough. Dang, those things are expensive, hope you can cover that much but you wanted to be a shoo in for the A-Main.

What do you mean I wasn't suppose to post that on here!

Well they won't know unless they see that very very very tiny snap swivel on their tail wheel, your secret is still safe, if they can't see it how do they know its there?

Looks like it's going to be a big time in T-Town. Looking forward to seeing the TX crew.

Will, I just can't get this flying start figured out. 2 seconds too soon or 2 seconds too late. Guess I will have to concentrate on staying out of the way. Looking forward to giving a try for the first time.
What is the penalty for being too early on the start?

Maybe when I get there I will get a better idea of how to do it from watching you experts that have done this before.

Hey guys, I’m so old and decrepit I can’t remember if I requested the use of a stool for the race. It would be nice to be sitting on my butt when the drag chute comes out.
Since RCU changed their format I no longer get e-mail notice of any post on threads I am interested in. I don’t know if it’s my computer of RCU that is screwed up. You know us old folks don’t like change unless it’s in more MPH.

James: the penalty for jumping the start is 1 cut. You can do a loop and
go back behind the starting line, cross it again and be ok though if you
cross the starting line too soon.

James,

if you're 2secs late you will have a 5 second lead in most heats ;-). Most heats don't have planes starting that close to 0.

Will, I will learn more Friday when I get to watch some of you guys do it. Not sure if my plane is fast or not. Got it on radar this week at 82 1/2 mph. Since I don't have anything to compare it with, I don't know if this is a good speed or not.

I will be arriving there between 1 and 2 pm. Depends if I have traffic problems going thru Atlanta.

Sounds good Jerry and will look forward to seeing all of you folks again!!

And James, ditto on what Brad ( Alabama Racer) says, BUT,..if you are too quick at the line , you MUST loop over the start finish line BEFORE making that first turn at the first pole. It wont hurt a thing to be a second or two crossing the line after the zero horn sounds. After thinking about it and from what others have said on how good you are, and this will be just for you,.. why dont we say that you can be about 10-12 seconds late crossing the line ?

Saddle up boys, the rodeo is about to begin!!!!!!!!!!! Me and Jimbob Andrews are going out today to run some laps.

Bigblue, it looks like yalls planes are asleep and confused and just dont know which way to turn !??

John, How good I am??????????? Somebody has been giving you some misinformation. It has been years since I raced C40 and never with a flying start.
Just remember: NO AMOUNT OF SPEED CAN BEAT DUMB LUCK.
The race should be fun. (I hope)

How's the grass looking in the out field. I wonder if you guys will be putting on another show for those people that cut and bail the grass like last year.

Nice, they are gonna cut it as short as possible for the EF1 guys. They cut and bailed the weekend of our 3D Event!

Default need a stool

Hey you’ll down in T-Town; do you still have that bar stool I used last year? I’m a year older and could sure use that stool again to park my butt on. I promise not to hit the pylon this year.

I would suggest you take off the TT .42 GP and replace it with a .40 Pro. But then, that did not help me last year at Harvest.

I seen a thread earlier that the grass has been cut short oris going to be cut short! These EF-1’s will need really short grass to take offin! I know last year the grass was not short enough for them! The Club 40 itworks well but I just hate to see guys brake there EF-1 racers on takeoff andlast year that was a problem! Not sure how low they will cut it but it justneeds to be short right at the takeoff lanes for the EF-1 guys! Looks like Bob’s van willbe full of plans this year!

That's showing 50%. Let's hope the odds improve.

Right now I am seeing A 50% chance of scattered showers. This is typical for our area this time of year and often leads to a pop up afternoon shower. We deal with this type
of weather daily and it can lead to a temporary delay in flying activity but it is usually late afternoon. At this point I don't see any reason we can't get a complete race in
but it's only Tuesday, even the weatherman is guessing at this point. Let's wait until a little closer to race day before panic sets in
