Default I'm on to you! Who ever you are...

Prepping my planes for this weekend I was about to assemble and weigh them. When I noticed the following...

I wonder what that is? Press on it, wait, ribs aren't supposed to be spongy. It seems I have a cracked rib in the wing!

I take it down to the shop and cut open the covering to get a peek at the rib.

Not too bad, a little balsa and a little CA and it should be right as rain! But wait, lets peek and prod at the next rib, it's cracked too! So I open up the entire wing.

I don't know which one of you son of a guns snuck into my garage but I'm on to ya!

Every rib, with the exception of the end/cap rib, on this side as well as the first two ribs on the other side was either broken or cracked!

Sorry to ruin your dastardly plan to watch my wing explode in turn one after that flying start but I ain't fallin' for it!!!!!!

You are just going to have to out fly me if you wanna win!

See Bigblue, nah man, we wouldnt want it to happen in turn one at the first pole,...we were gonna wait and watch it around lap 8 or 9 with you way out in the lead!!
I done told ya, I done told ya,.....you DONT mount that turbocharger in the wing cause it breaks the ribs and balsa all up , just like what you got there! E'rbody knows you mount it on top of the rudder!!!

Will, what say the weathermain so far about Saturday?
Hope to see all yall Saturday am!!

John,

weather.com
calls it 40 to 50 % all day Saturday but James Span the local guy says we may see a passing shower thru the day, both seem to agree it's a hit or miss deal and won't be all day rain. I believe we'll get a race in we may just have to hide and wait on a shower to pass. We've got 30 lbs. of chicken and 20 lbs. of pork going on the grill this morning so at the very least we'll sit around, get fat, and argue about who gets what trophy!!!!

I'd say there are more than a few guys in R/C who'd rather do this than fly...

Well supper is on the grill, the pit area is rapidly filling up,and the first race engines have been fired
if you're not here you're late and you're missing out.

Better get it in gear,
Will

Thanks everyone for a great day! Great competerters and great racing! A big thanks to those from out of town coming and enjoying the days with us! And THANKS for putting up with me! This may be my last T-Town Club 40 as we are planning on moving in the near future. Again on behalf of WAAM as club President and CD thanks for making this a great event, for without such great pilots and volunteers it would not have been!

Thanks, Will, Ed, and the entire WAAM Club for putting on the best float fly I've ever been to. All kidding aside thanks for putting on the race under very trying conditions.

I really wanted to get around and talk to everyone after the race Saturday but when thebig one blew in picking everything up was the main objective so I apologies for not saying goodbye to you’ll! Bob Petrinec and I really enjoy the fierce competiveness you guys show here in Bama! We thrive on this kind of stuff and I hope some ofyou guys can make it out to Waco in Oct. for the big two day show! Oct. 25& 26

My wife, Greg, Chacy, and myself were the last to leave and the parking lot was a series of lakes. I really appreciate everyone and really enjoyed keeping you guys going. The racing was tight but Bob hung in there with his consistency and racked up the scores. To all you Texas guys, thanks for coming for the 3rd year in a row! Indiana guys now are 2 years in a row now. This may have been my last year, but if not I am looking forward to 2015, you never know!

Hey Bob and Gary,
Congrats on taking 1st and 2nd! I'm down at the coast a few days of vacation before school starts. I just checked and saw the results! You make Texas proud. See you guys soon.

Hi guys, many of you have heard me say I always have fun at the Club 40 races; but I will confess, it’s more fun when you win. I did receive a lot of help from by caller Jerry Stafford; calling me tight and holding the umbrella over me so my transmitter wouldn’t get wet. Thanks to all the Alabama WAAM members for putting on this great race. A special thanks to Will and Brock for the excellent food.
Old Bob, feeling young again!
