Howdy Racers!
I know I'm late at getting this reminder out.
I've been out of pocket and then my computer decided to be out of pocket this last weekend!
We have our second NTPRO Race this Saturday for Q-25/C-40's & EF-1 Racers!
This will be at the Golden Triangle RC Club, Jim Fulton Field, 2820 E. Seeton Road, Grand Prairie, Tx. 75054.
GPS: N 32 deg 34 min 11.09 sec, W 97 deg 2 min 40.07 sec.
Sign-Up starts at 10 AM, Pilots Meeting & First race at 11 AM.
Again, we will alternate rounds between Q-25/C-40 & EF-1.
Entry Fee is $15 per Event & $5 Lunch!
Wind is supposed to be 7 to 9 MPH (as of today on Forecast) !!
Will send race standings after this Race Event!

Great racing yesterday. I managed to squeeze into 3rd place with my SkyRaider. BUT,
I'm ready to set up for Q25.
I already have a Viper in hand and OS 25 FX coming and I'm looking for some set up input. I've read up on modding the Viper so the tail and firewall stay on the plane but I'm sure that there's a lot more I might have missed. (tank and servos?)
I checked out a few planes yesterday and noticed that most were using the back plate mount and hogging out some material to clear the remote needle assy. I can handle that.
I ordered some long Hayes mounts just in case... (LA25)
Someone told me that there are only 2 props allowed? APC 8x6 and I forgot the other one. Was told it has slightly less pitch?
I'd like to know what that prop was.
Are the plane weights the same as AMA rules?

any 8x6 prop is allowed, but only the 8x6 prop. the beefing up of the engine mount is not really needed when flying the 25 unless you make some hard landings. it does come in handy and could keep you flying if you accidently have a "not so great" landing.

Jim, don't get too wrapped up in the details, after all it's just a local club event and Sarge, Jerry Stafford and myself are the CD's. It looks like we are the only ones flying Q-25 anymore since the Carolina guys don't seem to be doing so this year. The other prop is the Master Airscrew 8x6 S-2 Simitar. It measures about 1/2" less pitch than the APC 8x6 on my Prather Pitch Gauge. If you have a strong engine, you can pull the APC, otherwise the S-2 works well.
The local rules are posted here: http://www.ntxpylonracing.org/Q25_rules.html Some details are probably out of date. Don't sweat it, we WANT you to race with us, just don't bolt on a Jett BSE FIRE .25... I also want you to help me put some "hurt" on Squidman...

Hehe,
You read my mind!
Look out Squidman, here we come!
I know it's just your local group, and now it's MY local group too! You guys and the C40 and EF1 guys are the only ones I'll be racing with unless I go to the nats someday.
Soooo,
Details?
well it IS racing. :-)
