Club 40 Racing at the 2015 AMA Pylon NATS
I got the word from Dan Kane today that Club 40 will be run at the 2015 NATS in Muncie on 7/10/2015, a Friday. 3 pole AMA 424 will be on Saturday. And there's also EF1 I think on Sunday. Please speak up if you like this and spread the word. There are details to be worked out and we will keep you updated. The event will be held on a grass site adjacent to the main site where 3 pole is run on the paved runways. Book your hotel rooms early. Dan said that the town of Anderson is nearby and may be a better choice for hotels.

NMPRA has posted the announcement that Club 40 will be held at the 2015 Nats! Here is the post and schedule:
"you will also notice that on 7/10 a Club 40 event is scheduled. This event will be flown on the grass field behind the main pylon site. During this time the grass field will not be available for practice. However, the main site will have pylons set up and will be open for practice."
Mike Condon and I(Dane Kane) will provide details as the dates get closer.Attachments

BTW, ALL pilots are welcome for Club 40 at the 2015 NATS. We want to race against the best. So even you 422 and 426 pilots please come join in the fun. You may even find out that you like "Sport" flying the Club 40 planes. They won't do much 3D, but they are just fun everyday flying planes.
You can order from http://www.airborne-models.com/ or from me at http://www.stegallhobbies.com/. The planes are not on my Web site yet, but they are available and I have special Club 40 NATS pricing for NMPRA and RCPRO members.
You can go direct to the plane pages at Sky Raider Mach II and LA Racer 40.
I highly recommend the solid color models as they have CA hinges. The factory schemes are pre-hinged with metal hinges and are not as easy to customize. You can see more details and kit pictures at http://abmshowcase.com/

Club 40 is officially on the "Unofficial" entry form. I had the form prior to publication for fact checking and we are on Page 2 (or maybe backside) of the form. The entry fees are $10 for the AMA Event Fee and $30 for the Club 40 event. If you have paid the Official AMA Event Fee, you don't have to pay the $10. EF1 is the same as Club 40. If you fly both, you don't pay the $10.
I have the simplified Club 40 rules to post at Club40NATS.com but need a minor revision about the way the final round will be run and placing determined before I can publish the document. It is the same as the rules at http://www.rcpro.org/content/rcpro/c...5/default.aspx but with everything that does not apply to the 2015 Club 40 NATS removed or annotated.
One bit of good news. According to HRP Distributing the Thunder Tiger PRO 40 will remain in production and engines are supposed to be available in plenty of time.

Yes, this is an RCPRO Club 40 Race. The RCPRO Club 40 Silver class using .40 ball bearing engines will be the class raced.
You can find a link to the rules at Club40NATS.com.
I have a document that removes everything from the rules that does not apply, but it is awaiting a clarification on the way the final positions will be determined.
Bob was scheduled to have back surgery on 2/11 I think so you may have trouble getting a response right away. He should be fine well before the NATS.
Ken Erickson can answer most any question you may have about the rules. See the RCPRO Club 40 Committee Members page for other contacts.
In terms of bubbleless tanks, they will not be allowed as they were disallowed as of 2014. I think possibly some of the Texas races did allow them in 2014 as a transition. There are 8 ounce tanks by DU-BRO and Sullivan that fit easily and provide plenty of fuel for a heat.

Since repetition is the key to learning, I will repeat a few things.
Bob (oldbob) , CD of the Club 40 races at the Nats, will be out of pocket for a bit. I spoke with him this morning and he gave me permission to answer any questions, for which he has given me the answers, on his behalf, .
First, some general items:
Section 16 of the "Rules" contains actual Rules about the airplane. It will apply for the Nats.
Club 40 Silver is the class, which will be run at the Nats. Read section 16.1. The Nats document, about which Don has written, leaves out Club 40 Bronze ( 16.2) and Club 46 Gold (16.3), neither of which will be flown at the Nats.
Sections 1 to 15 contain Procedures. The full version contains procedures for both AMA-style racing and RCPRO Warbird-style racing. At the Nats, we will race AMA-style. The Nats document, about which Don has written, prepared by Bob, Don and myself, leaves out RCPRO Warbird-style procedures.
The only thing undetermined, at this time, is whether or not there will be "Mains" after the "Heats" and, if there are, how many.
I will stop here, sometimes more information, at any one time, is too much information.
Please read the current documents and/or the Nats-specific documents, when posted, and ask any questions you may have, either on the RCPRO website or here.

On Friday i looked at the AMA website and tried to submit my entry fro the upcoming NATS. The entry form needs to be printed out and mailed in. In the 70's when I competed at the NATS we had to mail in our entries back then as well.
I called the AMA and spoke with a very nice lady Yolanda she took my entry over the phone with CC info as well. So your options are to print the form and mail in with check/ CC info or call during working hours and do it over the phone.
Yolanda mentioned they had automating to a online electronic entry form scheduled but that is on the back-burner because of other pressing issues (my guess, like the Drone thing).
Also there is a $50 LATE ENTRY Fee after June 16!!!!!!

OK Club 40 jockeys, it’s time to stand up and be counted. Registration for the NAT’s is open and we need to let the AMA know how many of us will be coming to Muncie. This is the first Club 40 race at Muncie and if we don’t have enough pilots registered the AMA will cancel the event. If that happens, the AMA will refund the entry fees to those that have registered. So let’s get registered now. If you’re too busy sanding props or lapping pistons have your wife or girlfriend fill out the form, then give her a big hug.
