Alright you Club 40 junkies here is the Georgetown race schedule for 2016. March 19 will be our first race and Sept 24 will be our last race of the season. We plan on having the pylons up by March 12 so anyone that wants to practice is welcome to come and hone their skills. The pylons will be down while the corn grows and put back up a week before the last race.
All our Georgetown races will be the Club 40 Silver class, which is the same class we have been racing in past years. No 46’s except for the newly NMPRA approved Evolution 46 NX with the approved one piece muffler.
If you have any questions post them on this forum and I will answer them here.

Sparky, Hello. I resemble that remark! I've been coaching build events for 8 years. This year only two schools. Some years it's been up to 5 schools. I got to coach my grandson in Wright Stuff, and he got second at state. Then I coached my granddaughter in Helicopter, and she took first in state. Science Olympiad is a good activity, but I've seen a lot of poorly run events. I'll be at regional's the next two Saturdays cheering for my students.

Guys your silence is deafening. I hope I’m not scaring all you slow pokes with my new high performance LA Racer. This plane is sooo freak’n fast it scares me. To be fair I will hold beck and fly wide to give use guys a chance, but only for the first few laps.

Attention race fans, the Georgetown field is ready for racing. The pylons are up and have been speed tested. Any attempt to knock them down with a direct hit will result in balsa fertilizer for the newly planted corn.
Once again let’s hear from you guys so we know how much food to have on hand.

The Georgetown race is cancelled due to 30 mph+ winds. The options I have to reschedule are next Saturday March 26. I know this is the day before Easter. Or April 23, which is two weeks after the Waco race. Our field has a Pattern contest scheduled for April 2 and I will be out of town on April 16.
Let me hear from all the racing fans as to which date, if any, is better for you. Just so you all know, I prefer April 23 but will work with the majority. The Easter weekend I will not have enough workers to run the race so pilots will also be workers.

Ok race fans it’s now official. The Georgetown race will be on April 30 2016. Mark your calendars. This gives y’all more time to practice to be the fastest guy at the race. What more can you ask for??

Jim the field is in good shape at this moment. I was there today doing practice laps. The corn is only about 1 ft. high so it won’t be a problem. The field is dry enough to walk on without getting mud on your shoes (maybe just a little) except for a small area at the north end which is quite muddy.
We have 5 more days before the race so I hope the weather will hold off until Saturday night.
I’ll keep everyone informed on this forum, so stay tuned.

Listen up race fans, the Georgetown Club 40 race for this Saturday, April 30,is on. Here are weather report quotes for tomorrow and Saturday. Tomorrow, an afternoon t-storm or two. Saturday, a thunderstorm in spots.
Winds for Saturday will be SW 5mph, gust to 7mph.
I believe we have a better chance for good weather than being rained out.
So let’s do it.

Well the Georgetown Club 40 race had fantastic weather to add to the success of the day. There were 9 pilots so everyone made it to the main events. In the C main there were Fisher, Petrinec and Plake with Plake winning that race and moving up to the B main. The B main consisted of Blackwell, Fabianke, Hellums and Plake with Fabianke winning that heat and moving up to the A main. Unfortunately during that heat Hellums and Plake mid aired on the first lap. The A main consisted of Kendzior, Large, Hopson and Fabianke. This was a very close race and one that was much fun to watch. The lead changed several times before the final flag dropped and Randy Kendzior was the winner.
Here are the standings for the first five rounds leading up to the main heats with totalpoints and fast time for each pilot.

Greg, 2 out of the 4 in the A main had Evolutions including Randy Kenzior with the win and Ken Hopson fast time with a 1:25:33

Race fans, here’s the latest on the Georgetown Club 40race which is scheduled for Sept 24 at our field. The corn is still standingand is as hard as a rock. However because of all the rain last month the groundis still wet and soft so the farmer cannot harvest it. I talked with the farmertoday and he has no idea when he will be able to harvest the corn. This beingthe case I may have to reschedule or cancel our race. Keep in mind that theWaco race is scheduled for Oct 8 & 9 so a rescheduled race may take placeafter the Waco Race.
Stay tuned, I will keep you posted as to the conditionof our field.
