I'm man enough to admit it when I'm bested....... When I get the training wheels off my plane all I have to say is "I know what each one of you look like, I know what your planes look like and I'm taking names......... I even know where some of you live............

Hey you guy's need to get a job !! Some of us have to work for a living and don't have time to do all this jaw jacking Now come race day 10 laps around the poles will do the job !!
Barry knows about that slide shoe !! I just wish I was young enough to use it again.
I guess the club 40 will fill in my need for speed if I could only get that monkey out of my
flight box !!!

That monkey's name is "Mr. Murphy" and he was withy me at the last race.  I have set traps for that sucker and home to be rid of him for next race.

Dave, you were pretty good with that hot shoe why don't you bring it with you to ward off Mr Murphy at the next race.   Kind of like a good luck charm.

And we all know that "Luck always beats Good".

Sorry, but Don Peck won the Murphy award. He only got to race in one heat. Even his backup plane had a problem.

That doesn't mean he didn't come over and visit me or that he brought a couple of cousins to help spread his trash. Kinda in the opposite of Greg having someone watching out for him.

Mr Murphy is always around and you can have him !! As for the shoe, Barry that was a long time ago and I don't have a clue where it is, or if its even still around. I would be very LUCKEY if I could find it because they bring a lot of money now. I don't know how long its been, but Ken
resurfaced my shoe at Taladega short track in 1972 !! and I don't think he charged me to do it..
He was a great guy and made the best Hot Shoe you could buy !! I don't know how much they will bring now but a real Ken Maley shoe is very rare !!!

Step, clunk, step, clunk, step, clunk! I remember those days. Did not do much of it, but it was the most fun I ever had on a motorcycle!

Jamie I have not heard of anyone else ...yet anyway. See if you can talk it up with the guys you raced with up in Harvest and get them to come on board since I did not catch where they were from (?) . Maybe Timothy will know of a few guys too for Novice ?
Like I said earlier, pretty much every one I know down here does the Advanced Class.
We'll keep plugging away anyhoo.....

Also if you havent done so yet, let me know if you are 2.4 OR 72mhz style on your radio and post your channel if on 72 so that I can sorta monitor if there will be any channel conflicts.
I think we'll be ok but.....one never knows.
I like Tim's idea on those that give us conflict.... take them out back and beat them!! LOL

Jamie,

Check with Don Peck. He has an airplane setup for Novice. Lets see if we can talk him into coming. We also need to let Al Kretz know about this.

Do you know if Aaron will be entering Advanced at this race? We need fresh meat!

John,

I'm 2.4Ghz all the way.

I don't know about Aaron (I don't have his number either). If he goes I know he won't be in Novice. Yes, Let's try to talk Don into going. I've got to talk to Al about another matter so I'll let him know.

I'm 2.4 ghz.

John,
I just found out this weekend that your race is scheduled on fall break. My wife told me that she would enjoy a week of camping............

Be afraid John, be VERY afraid. Matter of fact you might want to stand behind a very strong wall while I fly.

Oh Im afraid alright Tim ! LOL
We do have some chainlink fence up at our place, that might be enough of a barrier to get out of your way

I went up to our field yesterday and there was not one pylon pilot there! What a bummer.
As a matter of fact, pretty much everyone was packing up and going home as I pulled up at 10:00 am. I took a shower before I left home, whats up with all this?

I sometimes don't do any of that stuff when I go to fly so I can run some off that that just aren't tough.

I'm hatching a plan to be in the Birmingham area for the day of the race. Are there any real nice campgrounds close to the field?

What about Oak Mnt State Park? I know its not exactly close to our place, its located South of town down in Pelham, right off of I-65 on the way to the Alabaster field. Logistics are not that great on it since we are just North of town. I live in town in Homewood, right off of Alford Ave on I-65, and our field is 29 miles from my crib, so Oak Mnt would be another 12 to 15 miles or so.

Oh , and I get it now....is this a diversionary tactic for "her",.. something like: Yeah honey, I know you said that you dont want me to go to the Bham RC Club 40 race that Saturday, I say we just find a nice campground somewhere along the way and I'll just bring my airplane stuff along just in case I find a nice place to fly! ???? Jamie, am I close? LOL
