Showdown In T-Town 2013
 

WAAM in Tuscaloosa is looking forward to hosting another Club 40 race in 2013. We are lookingat August 2nd, 3rd, and 4thand it will be a 2 day event since we had such a large turn out in 2012. Friday the 2nd will be for practice and out of towners toarrive plus we may have another hot lap event that day but that is a maybe. We are more experienced and eager to get it on. Hopefully the Texas guys will come and provide competition as they did this year. It was an amazing day of racing and everyone had a great time. Will post more as I receive more information on the date.

Good job Ed, we are looking forward to it! I’m hoping we can bring more racers this time around I’m thinking we had 11 from Texas at the 1st Throw down.

We are currently looking at the 1st weekend in August the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. I just edited the first post to include those dates. Club has approved the dates just waiting on the Club40 guys to bless the days. We are looking forward to seeing you guys again! We hope you guysbring a good following as last year and yes you had 11 if my memory is still good, I still have the rosters. We enjoyed you guys and hope you can make it this year! Who knows we may break 40 racers this year, now wouldn't that be a hoot!

Check the dates. The first weekend in August is the 3rd and 4th.

I am planning on being there. I am glad that it will be a two day event. It is a LONG way for one day. Are folks allowed to camp at the field?

Thanks, I pulled up my calendar and did not look at the year. Sorry for the info but it has been corrected.

Yes you can stay at the field. However there are no hookup's and you cannot park on the grass. Tents are ok. Drinking water and restrooms are available. We look forward to seeing you!

Hello gentlemen,
  The 2013 Showdown in T-Town is a little over a month away.  We would like to start with a pre-registration so we can plan on how many are coming and make your stay and racing enjoyable.
  I have not been able to get any discounts on hotels or motels.  The best bet is thru Expedia where some have already bood rooms at a good rate.  With UA having their influx of students and parents it would be good to get your reservations early.
  The field can be used for camping as water and restrooms are available, but no camper hooks ups are available.  Lunch will be provided on Saturday.  Snacks and drinks are available.
  I will start a new thread for registration so please go to that thread and put in your information.  Or send me an email with your info to [email protected].

Tim,
I'm sure David and his Dad Jim will be glad to bring his NEW start clock. He now has a new remote start, that all you have to do is push the button on the remote control and it start the clock like magic !! I'm sure the starter will enjoy that.
Also it has Digital read out numbers that Greg Doe could read with out his glasses !!
