Default Airplane shipping vendor ideas?

I need to ship a RTF 1/4 scale Giles from the east coast to Hawaii. I can build the needed crate but I am having trouble locating a shipper. FedEx wants $1700!! The crate will be 24x24x72 and weigh about 50lbs. Who does the shippping for those international flyers from Europe and Australia?

Its nice there anytime of the year. Check with DHL, they boughtout Airborne Express and are based overseas. Forward Air is the cheapest coast to coast, I dont know about Alaska or Hawaii.

Thanks guys for the input but they lead to dead ends. Forward Air does not go past the continental US and DHL will not ship US domestice cargo. So I have also asked AMA if they have a sugggestions. I am looking for a response from them.

I may take the advice about traveling and see what the charge would be for oversive and over weight accompanied bagage. My son lives there and will be traveling back to the mainland on business this spring. He is who I am sending it to anyway.

Check with the airlines. While it's been a long time, I've had packages sent via normal air carriers with someone on the other side to pick it up.
