Default Help, better flying on Weekends or weekdays

Its time to bid days off again for next year.
Which is better, flying on the weekends with the crowds and "personalities"........or flying weekdays when there are few, if any people around?

The answer depends on you.

Weekday benefits:

More stick time.
Have the sky to yourself.
Less likely to have a midair.
Don't have to loan stuff.
Can practice new maneuvers without the roar of laughter.

Weekend benefits:

Social aspect.
Tips/instruction from others.
Someone to take you to the hospital.
Can borrow stuff.
Competition

For me much of the decision would be based on how much I enjoyed the other flyers present on the weekends.

I often fly on weekdays because of my work schedule(4 days on 4 days off). Flying during the week is nice because it's less crowded and you can take several flights in a short amount of time. On a weekday there is less of a chance that some one will be on the same frequency as you.

I usually fly on Wednesday afternoon and Sunday morning. Get the best of both worlds.

I agree with everything depfife said,

But the BEST time to fly is when you leave work to do it, but you're still on the clock!

(Guess what I did Friday afternoon! )

I usually fly on weekdays with the same group of guys during the summer......leave work early one day a week (like MinnFlyer ) and stay at the field until dark. Summer weekends are spent with the family. During the winter, I fly on weekends (with pretty much the same group of guys).....but we're usually the only ones at the field during winter!

Default Hmmmmm!

I did not know that there was a better time to fly. ANY time is a good time to fly. That is unless stuff is blowing across the field, like lawn chairs and garbage cans or its raining like horizontal or something. Tornadoes really suck too but just wait a while and they usually leave. Here in South Texas if you don't like the weather, stick around 30 minutes, it will change.

Default anytime

I enjoy getting out to the field on Friday mornings, putting in a few flights and enjoying the company of the "retired" guys that are out there.

But I also enjoy being able to go with my son and fly on the weekends.

The best of both worlds........

Best regards,
Mike
