Nice. I love seeing old iron still doing the job it was designed to do decades after a normal person would have scrapped it.

Wouldn't mind an RC DC3 with some of those awesome OS radials.

IMO, One of the most Majestic Aircraft of all time!
I helped swap out fabric control surfaces on a DC3 at Teterboro NJ. The plane was set up as a laboratory for instrument calibration.

Majestic is an apt descriptor! One of the first airplanes that captured my attention was a DC-3, and my parents even snapped a photo of my fascination. It started a long love affair with aviation of all types.

I wonder if a company had the courage to re-tool and build them brand new...it they would be utilized again!

Speaking of DC-3 fabric covered control surfaces. I did an EAA covering workshop a couple of years ago and the object of the weekend was covering a DC-3 aileron, with inspection plates and stitching.

There is a TV series out there called Ice Pilots that features Buffalo Air. Great show and some real Canadian legends on the controls showing the younger guys the ropes.

There used to be a company that refurbished them with really rich interiors. Just can't remember who, and don't know if they are still around. I flew Air Caribbean in one in 1977...so it has been that long for me.
