A Beautiful Thing
Yesterday we celebrated a flier's life. We held a memorial at the airfield for the best flier I ever saw fly. We shared some good stories about him, had a very touching flag ceremony for him and a moving rendition of "Taps" was given. Then we scattered some of his ashes on the field he loved so much and I'm sure he's smiling right now. Even though the box opened prematurely and his ashes were dropped before planned, they are on the field for now and always. The picture is an actual picture of his ashes being dropped. It was a beautiful thing.
