OK guys, what's it gonna do?
I have been assembling my "Frankenstein" these last few days. I had an old 40 size H9 Ultra Stick laying around, and it began to call out my name every time I passed it. I had retired it, and wasn't sure what I was gonna do with it. Not long afterward, a Zenoah G20ei also began calling out to me.....soooo, to make a long story short, I put the two together. It weighs 7 lbs, and I added 3 1/2 oz to the tail to balance it. The batteries are as far back as possible, and I moved the elevator and rudder servos to the rear of the fuse. I was able to save a little weight by removing the mount from the engine, and bolting it on by putting the mounting bolts from the backside of the firewall into the same threads that the mount was held on with. So, back to my question....what's it gonna do....fly like a scalded eagle, or more like a lead brick?? I plan to try it out in a few days, but I was hoping to get some opinions from you guys first.

I was able to move the batteries back a little further, and remove 2oz weight. It is now balanced at 3 3/4 inches, with 1 1/2 oz weight on the tail. I plan to fly it this weekend. Will try and get some video.

Hmmm, I imagine you're right...I wonder if my ex-wife would be willing to give me a hand? All kidding aside, I fired it up today, just to get an idea of the thrust it has...I held it, pointed up, and opened her up...I have no doubt that it would have shot straight up had I let go of it. Looking forward to flying it this weekend.

I'd beef up the landing gear and mount if you haven't already. All that weight is just screaming to bend it and tear it out.

Well, I flew it this afternoon. Battery was dead in the camera, so I didn't get video. Unlimited vertical is an understatement!! It rolled about ten feet, I pulled back hard, and it went straight up, and kept going, and going.....It showed no hint of slowing down, and I have no doubt that it would have gone out of sight had I not backed off. After the original rocket shot, I settled down to see how it flew. Nice easy flyer, and it floats in nicely on landing, especially with the flaps deployed. I plan to fly it again tomorrow, and am charging the camera battery. This plane has quickly become my favorite The only change I need to make is to install bigger wheels. I had several prop strikes when taking off and landing. I'm running a 15x8 apc prop, and it seems just right.
