RE: I Challenge...........
I just sent a message to their Public Relations department:
You have a major problem with the operating software for the largest radio control website on the planet, RC Universe. Have a look:

You are losing members in droves. Someone responsible at your company needs to fix this ASAP. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Maybe it is true but I still see the same names in the forums I read.

RE: I Challenge...........
Now where are you going to go? To that pay out the wahzoo auction web site? Maybe over to RCG? This is the only game in town and we all know it. Maybe RCU is having trouble buying a decent server so they'll rationalize the need to start charging for listings in order to support all the data the runs through their lines? Be ready to start paying listing fees.

Wonder what is going on? Honestly, once in awhile accessing a particular thread requires a second click but other than that no problems at all. I check RCU twice a day, every day.

RE: I Challenge...........
I visit and enjoy RCG as well as RCU. However, RCU is the standard by which the others are mesured. Recently I have read more and more favorable comments about RCG and how it has become better than RCU. That should be alarming to the powers that be at RCU. If there are plans at RCU for our "new and improved" future here at RCU, somebody had best be sharing those plans with the members before they are lost. Once our loyalty is given to someone else, it will be difficult for RCU to reclaim it.

RE: I Challenge...........
I am one of those who spends much more time on RCG, than here. Used to only occasionally go to RCG, but it has been receiving a strong following as of late.

RE: I Challenge...........
I have been frustrated by the non-loading pages and the error messages but that only amounts to maybe 3% of the time I'm using the site and usually on the weekends. It is definitely a pain. I suspect that when a bunch of the nearly 500,000 registered members all try and get on at the same time, the site just gets overloaded.
Just goes to show you the difference between a business that is a labor of love instead of one that's just to make a buck. One gets tended to a bit more carefully.
Too bad we don't see threads that are about how great it was to sell my $5,000.00 airplane to the guy all the way across the country or how I finally got my dream HPI 5SC through this cool web site...
There's my nickel's worth...
Ben

What data do you have to support this statement?
Maybe it is true but I still see the same names in the forums I read.

This was once the premier go-to site but the flakey performance and often nonfunctional forums have made many go elsewhere. The quality of posts have degraded due to this drain. I no long post anything about my builds as typically I cannot complete these due to systems failures.
RCU is no longer my primary RC home on the web.

BTW - I had to retry 4 times to get this done

If all of you are really that concerned about the quality of this site. Stop sending your complaint's to the owner's. Send your concern's to the one's who pay for advertisement. If the owner's start getting call's of concern from the one's who sign their paycheck they will take notice.

RE: I Challenge...........
Just curious - How do the owners of RCU make money off this site? I would guess they charge a monthly fee for companies to post advertisements. I've never paid them a dime.
