Default Ebay Box Auction

I love ebay box auctions.

I wonder if this empty box will go over $200 like the last one I saw on ebay did?

I watched an auction for a Sig Kommander - box only. Went for $50 and $20 to ship, so I kept it in my watch list to check feedback - yep, they guy gave a neg feedback and was really upset that he bought only a box..

Trying to get more hits from the search engine. I always thought ebay took down auctions like that but I guess some still sneak through.

Since they dropped the insertion fees any dumb garbage goes on ebay, Used to be guys would think twice before listing junk that might not sell,

I have some bags of sawdust and wood chips I'm thinking of listing,, I got nothing too loose

The item description specifically says there is no engine, so it should be hard to claim there is a misrepresentation about what is for sale.

Maybe someone who owns one of these engines REALLY wants a box for it but I cannot imagine paying almost 20 bucks, plus shipping, for a box.

Call it "organic mulch." Throw in some wording about "going green." You will make a fortune.

IF, the add said " box only" the idiot deserved what he got. IMHO !! Although, some items are worth a lot more if you have the original box.

Sad you can get what you bought, then post negative feedback because you got what you bought rather than what you thought you bought.

Does he really think that the ebay seller should give back the money and lose all the ebay and paypal fee's just because that guy didn't read the description?

When the X-Box first came out someone did exactly the same thing, put just the box up on EvilBay. I think it finally went over $1,000.

Glow engine boxes sell on E-bay all the time. Engine collectors usually buy them.

I think this one wont get any activity until the last hour then it will get two or 3 hits. First will be someone who has the engine and wants to sell it and know they will get an extra $50 to $100 if it's sitting in a box so $32 would be worth it. The next one will be some bottom feeder that thinks he's getting a really good deal on a 60cc engine. Then will come one of those idiots, you know the ones that bid $150 on a used OS 55AX even though you can get a new one for $159. They will out bid the bottom feeder then later post negative feedback if the seller doesn’t return their money.

Exactly. I sell diecast cars (mostly Danbury Mint), and a good box and C of A papers can increase value 25%-50% or even more. I recently sold a Kyosho 1:12 Ferrari, lost $100 because I misplaced the box. (Guess what I found last week?) A box adds value. It's a free market.

It could be worse, like sending $10 or more per day to a tobacco company who's poisoning you. There's addictions, and there's addictions...

Like someone else wrote, I'm sitting on a fortune too!

At least the e-bay-of-pigs seller wrote, "It will be posted FROM FRANCE well wrapped for protection."

So, do you think it will be wrapped in brown paper, or will it be sent a box?

Ya know... it's kinda funny. I sell on ebay quite a bit. In fact with 3 eBay based businesses, we move 4000-5000 items a month. And it is very funny to me when somebody puts something up for sale, say and old PS3 box and some knucklehead comes along smashes the Place a Bid button and the decides the seller is a dirt bag because the buyer is too stupid to READ!!! That is the most moronic thing I have ever seen.

We get hundreds of emails a week that literally make you laugh out loud. I don't get it. We will have an item for sale, say a set of wheels & tires for a Traxxas T-Maxx, and we give HUGE close up photos and some pretty in depth description of these wheels. We include that they are 6.3" tall for example. And that the require 14 hex adapters.

Do you know that at least 10 times a week we get am email wanting to know if these tires fit a T-Maxx and if so are these the 6.3" tall tires that take a 14mm hex ???? I am not even kidding. We put up a listing for a Red body and will undoubtedly we will get 5 emails asking if this is the red body!!! I kid you not!

Sometimes you just shake your head and walk away from the computer!
