Screw vs Bolt
Guys, try Googling or searching hobby websites for a screw of some sort and watch all the bolts come up.
Listen up vendors...a screw is a screw and a bolt is a bolt.
Pah leeeze stop using the two interchangeably. Thank you.
There. I feel better now.
Anybody else have any examples of terminology used interchangeably that is irritating...
Just having fun is all...
Tom

Gas and glow fuel. Sorry, folks, but those two ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE!! Every time I hear or see someone refer to "nitro gas" I want to scream. Not only is it incorrect, it is also potentially dangerous.

Or , we could get into the whole George Carlin thing of "Why do we call them Buildings ???? Aren't ANY of em finished ???? , , , I think we should call em , , BUILTS !!!! "
We drive on the parkway , park on the driveway , and , If drunk driving is illegal in every state of the US , then
Why do Bars have parking lots ????
Engine VS motor , indeed !!!

RE: Screw vs Bolt
I think bolts are long thingies that have "screw" threads and a raised head, usually hex shape, to put a spanner, or wrench, or multi grip or whatever u can get your hands on, to turn.
Screws have the other type of heads, with slots, or phillips slots or that impossibly horrible airbus type offset slots for you to put your screw driver, or metal ruler tip or pen knife tip or whatever you can find to fit, to turn them

RE: Screw vs Bolt
In engineering terms, Not to be confused with wood screws, completely different.
A screw, is where the thread on a bolt goes from tip to head.
A bolt the thread does not go from tip to head.
A pic of engineering bolts and screws
If you go on the rcu homepage the advert shows 6AL 4V ti screws with hex heads.
