RE: Anyone Know This Light Fingered Louie
I wish! Daniel (the vendor in this video) told me about this guy 20 minutes after he discovered the little old pilferer.... fortunately the video has been making the rounds..
hopefully he'll be noticed at someone's local field...

To Propworn , Thank You for posting that . I hope the friends of the guy shame him into doing the right thing and paying for what he stole . Course , the real right thing would have been to not steal the stuff in the first place , and it shouldn't take the threat of getting caught to get someone to behave honorably . At his age , the guy darned well understands exactly the financial pain his thievery is causing the merchant , but obviously that means nothing to him . Show me a truly poor man stealing food so as to not starve and I'll feel sympathy . Show me an obviously well off person stealing hobby toys and there is the face of a truly greedy , rotten soul .
To RC Ken , Maybe you could make this a sticky for a week or so , so maybe one of his friends will see it and prompt him to fess up , pay up , and then keep his sticky fingers off of any other hobby dealer's wares ?

What a lowlife! There is simply no honor in some men.
Perhaps posting it on YouTube & rcgroups might help nab this larcenous purloiner.

The guy kind of turned himself in. He didn't know why the video was on You Tube and did contact the guy who had the booth and is returning what he must have "thought" was free. He lives in the Akron area but no telling what other stuff he got a five-finger discount on, only what is seen in the video. Yes, he deliberately stealing the items as you can see as he's trying to sneak one thing into his bag. It's too bad that he didn't get to enjoy the entire Toledo experience of spending some time in the Lucas County lock-up.
I was there on Saturday when this happened but who knows where I was at the time. My daughter-in-law observed someone else upstairs in the swap shop area helping himself to a plane while the seller, an old man that must have been in his mid 70's was off doing whatever for a minute, possibly a potty break.
Last year another person stole stuff at not only the Toledo Show but was caught on camera stealing items at the Perry, GA swap meet. If you watch the above video on You Tube, that video will be in the sidebar.

That just plain sucks!!! If you can't afford it, leave it there!! He'd probably say, "I'm just an old man. I'm confused". Yah right. I'm an old man and if Iwas confused enough to pick things up and not pay for them I should be in a nursing home or a bullet in my head to put me out of my misery.

Can you imagine going to a club meeting and someone saying, " Hey, you're the guy in the video stealing at the swap meet?" Yeah, he would want to return it, with a lame excuse.

Well I hope they put him on the " No Fly " list for Toledo next year. Would be nice to make him stand on a street corner with a sign around his neck saying I am a thief and I stole from a nice vendor at this show. A little humility would do him some good.
At least the vendor is getting his stuff back. I am betting that is not all he stole from the show.

An other guy that may be needing to watch out fot is "Rodney Colier" he is back from his time in jail for stealing airplanes,Heli's, and Honda Generators.
He was in Lakeland last week and may be living in the St. Pete area..
He is driving a Topper Chev Van light in color with MICH. plates.
Do a search on his name.

With the Toledo Show only a few weeks away and if you're attending, be on the look-out for for thieves at the show. A lot of the dealers may be manning their booths by themselves or have another person who might not be there at the moment. Anyone who goes there knows how crazy things can get with the dealers and it's almost impossible to keep and eye on everything when you're dealing with someone else as the videos show. The thieves know that they're busy elsewhere yet one thief was doing it practically under his nose.

I stopped shipping with UPS years ago for poor customer service. Switched to Fedex and have had only one lost package out of hundreds sent. Actually the package was stolen from the recipients doorstep. Fedex paid the claim promptly for the item and shipping.
I have also used USPS Priority mail with excellent results but I use a third party insurer with them. A great choice for small stuff, Fedex for the larger items.
