Default Does de-tonguing a prop increase cavitation?

Before I get to carried away de-tongue my favorite prop I have a few questions. Will this increase cavitation and effect the low end performance? I have a mono with a 2 blade surface prop. Any feed back would be welcomed.

Thanks
