That will never happen, The fact of the matter is if all overseas products would become unavailable this country would be in bad shape. Even the stuff we by from
Tower and Horizon is made overseas for the most point.

Notice the stock market took a dive because manufacturing in China is going flat. That doesn't mean they are stopping just that it is no longer growing and growth is what drives the market. At some point though, manufacturing will begin to shift away from China to a less expensive labor market and the cycle will repeat.

Who knows, in a few years we may be seeing threads about Aficiones Rey.

Default Recent Hobby King Shipping Foulup

I ordered a couple of LiPo batteries from HK early in Jan,14. Through some mixup (maybe mine) the order was listed for "Local Pickup"in Lakeland, WA. To their credit, they sent me an Email asking me if this was correct. I tried to arrange to have it sent to my home in TX. I paid a Paypal request from HK for the shipping charge. Then the fun began! After 2 wks of Emails & 3 chats wherein I was promised the shipment would be made within 2 days, I cancelled the order tonight. We'll see if my refund to PP comes through within 2 wks.. I've made many orders from HK that went fine. But once things get messed up, good luck on their CS to get it right.

My latest info is that HK's USA Warehouse consists of a guy who drop ships through a UPS store in Lakeland, WA.

Anyone know more about them?

A bit off topic - I have read some good info on the covering. Have you used it previously and how does it hold up?

It goes on about like monokote -looks good and shrinks ok-I like Ultracoat better as far as ease of application but the HK covering is a lot cheaper

READ THE LINKS POSTED BY KEYMAN regarding the BBB on page three here. Thanks for the link Keyman. I can vouch for the articles. I own a small business, was a member & dealt w BBB for years. It is a "pay for play" sham just like the articles say. I know FIRST HAND !

Reminds me of an old joke about dinner at the boss's house. Unfortunately it is not even suitable for this site but you can tell it in church on any Marine base.....

So lets revisit the OP title. Not Screwed By Hobby King.

OK, a gent over on another site reported that Hobby King are now informing people by Email (well after the fact) if an item that was in stock when they placed an order and then went backorder. They will allow you to remove it from your order and give you store credit.....

STORE CREDIT? That means they already took your money and now they get to sit on a portion of it until you use it.

They are making it easier for themselves to keep and use your money while giving you a false sense of satisfaction !

They will probably credit your PP or CC when pressed but it's just more hoops they make you jump through.

Flyinwallenda is right, they can take a month or more to credit your account. As for the bull crap statement, go lokk on RC groups in the Hobby King forum. I didn't make this up and FWIW it IS just another way for them to hold on to their customers money as long as possible without providing a product. Why people think they are getting a good deal is beyond me cause I'm always reminded of the old addage, penny wise and pound foolish.

I buy stuff from all over the place, but I never thought of asking for a warehouse picture... Does it work for you? So far, I never got ripped off... Ever, by any vendor, in the US or abroad. Yes, at 64 I have to be really lucky, sure. Must be luck!

Do you also ask for pictures of the chicks you place orders with? Just wondering:-)

Happy discussion! It was due, it was like 2 weeks since the last HK thread...

Always thought that was neat when they come in that box via USPS. Don't think they'd survive the trip from china though !
Wonder how long HK chicks would last anyway? Would they even lay eggs ?

I understand the OP... but it is wasted breath arguing. No-one is going to change someone else's opinion on this matter. I do appreciate hearing the bad stories as well as the good. I thing fundamentally, hobby king is a good company. There are always problems in mail order, especially from the other side of the world.

Yeah welcome to the hot chicks forum. Speaking of hot chicks, I hope the good folks at Hobby King poke some holes in the those shipping boxes like they do for for a lot of their airplanes.
