Default Shipping Lithium Batteries

In this memo ( http://www.hongkongpost.hk/eng/publi...210a/index.htm ) Hong Kong Post spelled it out in no uncertain terms that they will not ship Lithium batteries. That means that batteries manufactured in Asia will have to come to the US in bulk by boat. Shipping small amounts of anything by containerized freight is not cost effective so unless a company has the storage capability to accept large container loads of goods shipping over water destroys the profit margin or increases the cost of the goods.

Looks like the price of Lithium batteries may go up unless the Asian companies can find a way to meet demand here in the US by sending large quantities of goods in each shipment. It would be interesting to see just how many Lithium batteries can be packed in a single freight container.
